Rains have reduced significantly over the entire South Peninsula and during the last 24 hours very light rains were recorded over isolated places of South Tamil Nadu.
At present, no significant system is present over Tamil Nadu and its adjoining areas. Moreover, the dry northeasterly winds are blowing over the entire state thereby making the weather dry and warm. These conditions are likely to continue for next two to three days.
Thereafter, an upper air Cyclonic Circulation ,currently persisting over Southeast parts of Bay of Bengal, would intensify into a low pressure area.
As this system slowly moves West -North westward directions, its intensity will increase thereby resulting in rains and thundershowers over Coastal Tamil Nadu around December 12.
At present, maximums over Chennai are recorded around 30.9℃ while minimums around 24℃. Coimbatore is recording temperatures around 31℃ while minimums around 22.2℃. Coonoor is experiencing cooler weather with its night temperatures settling around 11.7℃ while day temperatures around 19.4℃.
In the next two to three days, maximums would continue to remain between 31℃-33℃ over the entire state while minimums would observe a marginal decrease.
