The famous holy shrine of North India, Vaishno Devi witnessed heavy snowfall this season. In fact, Vaishno Devi was enveloped in heavy snowfall last weekend making it difficult for the devotees to visit the shrine. However, weather across Katra including Vaishno Devi went on to become dry again.

This was all due to the fresh Western Disturbance which was over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir region. Minimum temperatures in Katra have also increased due to rise in levels of humidity. Though rain bearing clouds were hovering over the region with a significant drop in day temperatures.

As of now, as per Skymet Weather, one or two short rainy spells are likely to occur over the holy shrine in next 24 hours. Thereafter, the weather in Vaishno Devi is expected to become dry again. Though partly cloudy sky will still persist over the region.

Weather is expected to become dry and sunny once again 24 hours hence. Morning is likely to remain cool but pleasant day conditions are expected to follow. Minimum temperatures are likely to remain between 6°C and 7°C. While the daytime highs are also likely to settle in the range of 15°C to 17°C. Hence, devotees who are planning to visit the holy shrine, this weekend is predicted to be the best time to visit.

This season, hilly states of North India have observed good snowfall.
