Light rains likely in Kakinada, Hyderabad to remain dry

The saga of dry and warm days in Telangana and the adjoining Andhra Pradesh seems to be a non-ending one. It has been a stretch of almost 4-5 days that both the states have not seen any rains. The city of Nizams, Hyderabad is also reeling under similar weather pattern.

Due to the absence of any good showers over both the states, the maximums have also scrolled up a few notches from the normal making the days really hot and uncomfortable. The similar weather continued in both the states in the last 24 hours as well.

However, now due to the commencement of Northeast Monsoon in the country, the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh can expect some rain and thundershowers at a few places. These rains are more likely to commence over the southern coastal belt of the state in the stations such as Nellore, Kakinada, Bapatla, and Ongole. Initially, the intensity of these rains will be light in nature but after a span of 24 hours, the intensity is also expected to scale up.

In contrast, as the northeasterly winds are prevailing over the youngest state of India, Telangana, and due to the absence of any significant weather system prevailing over the region, the state and the Biryani City Hyderabad are still likely to reel under dry days. However, chances of thundershowers in a few pockets cannot be ruled out.

The maximums in Hyderabad is expected to remain close to the normal. While morning and nights are likely to remain comfortable. The afternoon will remain warm.
