Light rains likely in Bengaluru, Karnataka

Rains have remained vanished from the city of Bengaluru and most parts of Karnataka from the last 3-4 days. The last traces that the capital of Karnataka had seen were on October 19 and since then, the city is reeling under the dry and warm weather.

Within the span of the last 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Sunday, only isolated places of the state such as Gadag and Dharwad recorded 3.3 mm and 1 mm of light spell of rains. However, the capital city, Bengaluru failed to record any traces of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough is seen extending from South Chhattisgarh to South Konkan across Telangana and South Maharashtra.

Moreover, a cyclonic circulation is also expected to develop over the southwest Bay of Bengal and another over the southeast Arabian Sea. Due to these weather systems, rains are expected to increase over Karnataka from October 25 or 26.

Mainly the districts lying on the coastal belt of the state and the regions of South Interior Karnataka including the capital city Bengaluru is likely to receive light to moderate rains at many places until October 28. On the other hand, the districts of North Interior Karnataka are likely to get isolated light spells.

Thereafter, the rain intensity over most parts of the state will reduce. However, isolated rains are still expected to continue.
