Light rains in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara to continue

Scattered light to moderate rains have been occurring over many parts of Gujarat since last four to five days.

As far as the cities in particular is concerned, Ahmedabad has been recording light rains since last one week, while Vadodara witnessed light to moderate rains. In the similar manner, Rajkot and Bhavnagar also received good spells. Intensity of rain remained less over Kutch particularly in Bhuj and Naliya districts.

These rains can be attributed to the persistence of cyclonic circulation over Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Kutch region.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Vadodara recorded rainfall to the tune of 13 mm, followed by Bhavnagar 5 mm and Surat 4 mm. Other areas just recorded a mere of 1 mm rainfall including Ahmedabad 1 mm, Porbandar 1 mm, Okha 1 mm and Deesa 1 mm.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light rain will continue over Gujarat region for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, we expect the weather to go almost dry, but isolated light rain may occur over eastern and southern parts of Gujarat.

As of now, maximum temperatures are in lower 30s and minimum are settling in higher 20s. Not much variation in day and night temperatures is observed. Even nights are not very comfortable.
