Dry weather maintained its tight grip over the region for quite a long time; however, rainfall did made a comeback over few locations. The intensity of the showers remained confined to light to very light, but it was a relief for the locals as well as the tourists from the continual aridness throughout the area.

As per Skymet Weather, a Western Disturbance is currently moving across the Tibetan region. This system has induced a cyclonic circulation that can be marked over Meghalaya and adjoining parts of Assam.

With the impact of these two weather systems; rains of light to moderate intensity occurred during the past 24 hours over parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Upper Assam and North Nagaland. Further, weathermen are of the view that light to moderate rain will continue over the same mentioned regions for another 24 hours.

With the endurance of cloudy sky and rain, maximum temperatures are expected to fall by one to two degrees. But, minimums are expected to rise marginally. In fact, we expect the cloud cover to increase over the western portion of Assam as well as Meghalaya during the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, sky would remain partly cloudy over Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Additionally, moderate fog is anticipated over some parts of the mentioned regions during the morning hours.

So, days are expected to stay comfortable, while the nights will be cool over most places of Northeast India.
