The state of Rajasthan has been observing warm and dry weather for the past many days. In fact, both the maximum and minimum temperatures continued to witness a rising trend.

However, tables turned and on the day of the festival of colors, Holi, i.e. March 2, a spell of light rain was observed over some parts of the state. Rain activity was witnessed in the past 24 hours over cities like Bikaner, Churu, Sri Ganganagar and Ajmer.
These light rain and thundershowers could be attributed to the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir which has induced a cyclonic circulation over Haryana and neighbourhood. Besides this, an upper air trough is extending from this circulation up to West Rajasthan.

With the combined effect of these weather systems, places like Alwar, Bikaner, Churu, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu and Sikar in Rajasthan may observe one or two spells of light rain and thundershowers, accompanied with strong winds and dust storm during the next 4 hours.
With these rains, both the day and night temperatures will drop by one or two degrees over maximum portion of the state.
As per Skymet Weather, maximums will observe a marginal upward trend after the rainy episode. Days are anticipated to remain warm with pleasant morning and nights.
