As of today, the entire state of Rajasthan is rain surplus by 11 percent. As far the sub-division is concerned, West Rajasthan is rain surplus with 44 percent, however East Rajasthan is rain deficient by 7 percent.
From past few days, the eastern districts of the state have been witnessing rains but they were not good enough and of just light intensity. While West Rajasthan remained mostly dry during this period.

During the last 24 hours, good rain and thundershowers have been observed over most of Rajasthan. This weather condition can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is lying over Southwest Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Pakistan. Along with this, one more cyclonic circulation is seen over South Madhya Pradesh and adjacent Vidarbha region.
In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Bundi recorded a good 28 mm of rains, Jodhpur 16 mm, Jaipur 14 mm, Kota 9 mm, Udaipur 9 mm, Bhilwara 5 mm and Tonk 4 mm of light intensity showers.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely to continue for another 24 hours over East Rajasthan. Places such as Udaipur, Bhilwara, Kota, Jaipur and Chittorgarh may witness Monsoon rains of light intensity. Morning and nights will be comfortable, but days will be warm over the region.
On the other hand, the weather over West Rajasthan will be hot and dry. Places like Phalodi, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Jodhpur and Sriganganagar will witness hot weather with day maximums of 37-39 degrees.
