Weather of some parts in the southern parts of the country had been slightly rainy with isolated rainfall activity being witnessed over South Tamil Nadu during the last two to three days. In fact, in the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains have occurred over southern parts of Kerala. In fact, a couple of places in Karnataka also saw light rainfall activity.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Alappuzha recorded 11 mm of rains, Kochi saw 3 mm of rainfall while Madikeri in Karnataka saw 1 mm of rainfall.

These rains can be attributed to the inflow of moderate winds from the Bay of Bengal. Moreover, a trough was extending from equatorial Indian Ocean to Sri Lanka.

Now, these weather features have faded away, but a confluence zone or wind discontinuity is seen across South Peninsula right from Chhattisgarh to South Interior Karnataka across Telangana.

Thus, now, not much weather activity is likely over Tamil Nadu, Karnataka. However, isolated light rains and thundershowers are likely over Telangana, South Interior Karnataka and Kerala during the next 24 hours. Thereafter weather will become dry.

Also, minimum temperatures are expected to increase over Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu due to flow of southeasterly winds which are humid in nature from Bay of Bengal. However, temperatures in Interior and Coastal Karnataka may see a fall in temperatures due to relatively cooler winds from northwest.
