Light rain in parts of Kerala likely; Karnataka to remain mainly dry

During the last 24 hours, isolated pockets over southern parts of Kerala received light rainfall activity and the entire state Karnataka remained dry. In fact, day remained mostly dry and night comfortable over most places in both the states.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday, in Kerala - Kottayam recorded 18.6 mm of rain, followed by Trivandrum airport 5.8 mm, Kollam 5 mm, Thodupuzha (Idukki) 4 mm and Trivandrum city 2 mm.

Talking about the temperatures over these states, yesterday maximum temperatures recorded over most places was in mid-30’s and minimums were seen settling in mid-20’s.

Now due to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep and its adjoining region, light rainfall activity is expected over isolate pockets of Kerala. However, all parts of Karnataka will continue to witness dry weather conditions for the next 36 to 48 hours.

Meanwhile, during the next 24 hours, sky conditions will be mainly clear to partly cloudy over Kerala and Karnataka. Clouding is likely to increase subsequently after 24 hours.

Furthermore, on November 15 and 16, southern parts of Karnataka may also experience light rainfall activity accompanied by strong winds. Moreover, minimum temperatures are also likely to decrease gradually over both the states.
