After a prolonged dry spell, Mumbai received light rainfall on Tuesday morning. The city of dreams had been dry for over a month and thus, this spell of rain came as a welcome relief for Mumbaikars.

At present, a trough can be seen extending from Vidarbha up to Comorin area across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Isolated light rain will continue along this trough line.

Due to this trough, humid winds from Bay of Bengal are travelling up to Karnataka and Madhya Maharashtra. Moreover, a feeble trough has also developed over Coastal Maharashtra. This feeble trough was responsible for light scattered rain for Coastal Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa region. The weather system brought light rain in places like Dahanu, Mumbai and Ratnagiri.

But now, weather will again go dry over Mumbai. However, interiors of Madhya Maharashtra will continue with patchy showers for another 48 hours. Tomorrow we can expect light rain over Raigarh, Pune, Sangli, Satara and Kolhapur.
