From the past many days, dry and warm weather conditions have been prevalent over northwestern plains of India that includes Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. So much so, that the weather has become unbearably warm.
With the start of the month of September, the region did record some spells. After that, the weather went mostly dry.

The last 24 hours were also of not much difference and the region continued to reel under persistent warm and dry weather. This weather situation can be attributed to the lack of any significant weather system over or around the region.
In fact, at present, the axis of Monsoon trough has moved southwards and is passing through Jammu, Dehradun, Bahraich, Hardoi, Varanasi, Ranchi, Digha and further towards North Bay of Bengal.
