The rains over the state of Maharashtra saw a minor increase on the last day in comparison with the rains that occurred over the state a day before. The increase was though mainly witnessed in parts of Vidarbha, South Konkan divisions and few pockets of Madhya Maharashtra.
Meanwhile, parts of North Konkan received very light spells. On the other hand, Marathwada continued to remain dry.
In the span of last 24 hours, from 08:30 am on Monday, Washim recorded 16 mm of rains, Ratnagiri 9 mm, Mahabaleshwar 7 mm, Akola 6 mm, Harnai 4 mm, Kolhapur 3 mm, Pune, Nashik, and Sangli recorded 0.2 mm of rains each.

Very light rains even occurred in parts of the capital city, Mumbai. Mumbai’s Colaba Observatory recorded 0.4 and Santa Cruz Observatory recorded some rainy traces.
As of now, rains may increase further over the parts of Vidarbha and Konkan. However, the intensity would be more over South Konkan division. Parts of Madhya Maharashtra, mainly North Madhya Maharashtra may also see an increase in the rain activities. However, Marathwada would continue to remain dry.

Farmers of Konkan are advised to apply fertilizers to Kharif crops like Rice, Finger Millet etc Farmers are also advised to apply FYM to fruit plants like Mango, Cashew, Coconut, Arecanut etc.
Farmers of Marathwada region are advised to take weed control after 15 to 20 days of germination and carryout hoeing operation. Follow it by weeding in next 15 days as the competition of crop and weeds can be avoided for air, water, nutrients, and sunlight.
