According to Skymet Weather, we can anticipate light rain and thundershowers over Mumbai and adjoining areas of Konkan & Goa region during the next 24 hours as well. All thanks to the cyclonic circulation over North Gujarat that will attract humid southwesterly winds from Arabian Sea over the region.
However, the interior parts of Maharashtra like Vidarbha, Marathwada and most pockets of Madhya Maharashtra would continue to battle dry weather for at least the next 2 to 3 days in the absence of any significant weather system.
There are prospects of maximums to settle in lower to mid-30s in Vidarbha. Similarly, coastal cities and some districts of Madhya Maharashtra are likely to observe warm and sunny days.
On the other hand, nights would stay cool and comfortable over Interior Maharashtra, with minimums nearing 18-20°C.
As on September 9, the entire state has acquired normal rains with a mere deficiency of 1%. Correspondingly, all the sub divisions of Maharashtra have also seen normal rainfall. So far, Konkan & Goa saw marginally above normal rains by 4%, followed by Madhya Maharashtra by 1%. Marathwada and Vidarbha recorded rains with some deficiency to the tune of 11% and 5%, respectively.
