Since the last few days only scattered light rainfall activity has been observed over the northern hills of the country. During the last 24 hours also, scattered light rains were observed over few parts of Jammu and Kashmir along with isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Gulmarg recorded 3 mm of rain, followed by Srinagar and Bhaderwah that recorded 0.4 mm of rain.

At present, a Western Disturbance as an upper sir system persists over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Pakistan. Its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Northwest Rajasthan and adjoining region.

Due to the effect of both these weather systems, rains are expected over few places over the Western Himalayas. Rainfall activity will be mostly light in intensity and will occur over Jammu and Kashmir and few places over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Thus, we can say that cloudy sky with comfortable day is likely over the plains, Meanwhile the hills will continue with cool day conditions.

Further, another Western Disturbance is also likely to approach northern hills by October 8, rains will now continue intermediately over the area.
