Light rain in Hyderabad, Telangana to keep occurring

October 11, 2017 11:58 AM | Skymet Weather Team

As predicted by Skymet Weather, rains have continued to drench Telangana the last day as well. In fact, rains have continued almost every day since the arrival of October. It further seems that the rainy saga for Hyderabad is in no mood to end so early.

However, as compared with the past few rainy spells, the intensity of rains has reduced drastically in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Bhadrachalam recorded 20 mm of rains, Hyderabad 2.6 mm, and Nizamabad observed 0.2 mm of light spells. On the other hand, most of the other districts of the state remained dry.

As per Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from the Bay of Bengal to Madhya Maharashtra across Telangana. This weather system is expected to persist for the next 2-3 days. Hence, the ongoing rains over Telangana are likely to continue for another 2-3 days. However, the intensity of these rains will be on the lower side and will mainly be in light to moderate in nature.

Thereafter, the dry winds from the north and northeast will start blowing over Telangana leading to clear sky. Moreover, the above-mentioned trough is expected to shift towards Tamil Nadu leading to a reduction in rains over Telangana including Hyderabad and dry weather will once again start prevailing.

The maximum temperatures due to the reduction in rains and prevalent dry weather will also start rising and may reach to mid-30’s again but the nights will remain comfortable and clear.
