The weather over Hyderabad has been dry for the last many days. However, light rains made an appearance over the city and nearby areas during the last 24 hours. These rains have been attributed to formation of a confluence zone in mid-levels and a low-level trough extending from South Madhya Maharashtra to Telangana.
Further also, isolated light rains are expected over Telangana, particularly over the southern districts of the state during the next 24 to 48 hours. Hyderabad may also receive isolated rains. Thereafter, weather conditions will once again dry.
Minimum temperatures would remain above normal for at least next one week or so. Meanwhile, the maximum temperatures will settle near normal only.
At present, the city is rain deficient by 66%. In fact, the entire state of Telangana is also largely rain deficient by 84%. In November, it has received 40.8 mm of rain against its normal of 121.2 mm.
During the Northeast Monsoon, Telangana receives good rains only in the month of October. However, in November, rains reduce significantly and by December, the weather becomes almost dry over most places of Telangana. Even the monthly average rainfall comes down to single digit.
