However, the month of July started on a better note. And gradually we have seen better performance of rain from first week to the third week. The 3rd week was ultimate wherein multiple weather systems effected the state, which resulted in good rainfall activity across many parts of Gujarat.

At present, the entire state of Gujarat is surplus including the drought prone regions.

Gujarat is usually governed by the weather systems formed in the Bay of Bengal, which mostly move across the central parts of the country, and when they reach East Madhya Pradesh, they result in some rains over Gujarat also.

The main feature that affected the state was the cyclonic circulation in the mid-levels that remained persistent for one whole week over the state and drove good amount of rainfall activity for Gujarat.

Mostly the southern parts of Gujarat were affected and later covering the entire region. These rains also gave flood like conditions in some pockets.

Meanwhile, the capital city, Ahmedabad along with Gandhinagar stayed rain deficient as they haven’t scored much rain in this season.

Further, as the cyclonic circulation has shifted, and no other significant weather system is seen, but due to the well-marked low-pressure area over Madhya Pradesh, light rains are expected over the state for the next few days.
