Light rain in Delhi NCR; winters to make onset soon

November 18, 2017 3:39 PM | Skymet Weather Team

During the last 24 hours, the national capital region has witnessed light rains at few places. In fact, the remaining northwestern plains of India namely Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh also recorded some spells during the same time frame.

All thanks to the passage of Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan. As per weather models, both these weather systems have moved away, so again winds have started blowing from the northwest.

However, due to the remnants of induced cyclonic circulation, the sky will remain cloudy to partly cloudy during the next 24 hours over Delhi and NCR. Also light rain cannot be ruled out over parts of the region.

Short spell of light rain and thundershower are possible at some places over Central, East, New Delhi, North, North East, Shahdara, South, South East, South West, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Mewat, Palwal, Rewari, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad during the next 2-3 hours.
