Light rain in Delhi NCR to keep weather pleasant

August 2, 2017 1:17 PM |

Cloudy weather in DelhiEver since heavy showers on Monday, the weather of Delhi-NCR has gone pleasant. Day maximums have been hovering around 32°C, which is two degrees below the normal average.

Now, the good news is that this pleasant weather conditions are here to stay. According to Skymet Weather, isolated rains for short duration will continue for the next 3-4 days over national capital and adjoining areas of Gurgaon, Noida and Faridabad. However, we do not expect heavy rains during this time.

These on and off patchy rains will keep the temperatures under check and weather will remain comfortable. No major change is likely in the temperature profile but increase in humidity level may cause some discomfort during afternoon hours.

As per weathermen, the axis of Monsoon trough which was responsible for giving moderate to heavy showers over the city has now oscillated towards north. It is now running north of Delhi, leading to reduction in rain.

However, good rains will make a comeback by next week. We expect that by Monday, the Monsoon trough will once again start running close to Delhi. Moreover, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir by that time.

In wake of this, Delhi-NCR will be all set to witness another spell of good rains by August 8 or 9. August is the rainiest month for the city, wherein the monthly average stands at 232.5 mm.
