Delhiites woke up to a pleasant weather, with light rains and thundershowers making an appearance early Friday morning. With spike in temperatures and availability of moisture in atmosphere led to the development of convective clouds over Delhi-NCR.
Rains had started initially over southern parts of Delhi and adjoining areas of Gurugram and thereafter covering most parts of the national capital.
The showers had restricted rise in maximum temperatures and day had started with mercury at just 24°C at 9 am. However, the relief from heat would be a momentary one only and we expect mercury to rise gradually now.
With cloud cover clearing up, bright sunshine would once again make way to the national capital region. Afternoon would again be a warm one, with mercury settling in the range of 38°C to 39°C.
These rains were on account of the Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir that has induced a cyclonic circulation over Northwestern plains. A trough is also running from this system, which is moving close to Delhi-NCR.

All these systems have been inducing enough moisture over the region, due to which weather conditions remain favourable for another spell of light rain or thundershowers or dust storm on Friday evening.
We would light to reiterate that these pre-Monsoon activities would be feeble in nature and would not affect the day that would continue to be hot.
