The Western Disturbance has now moved out of the hills, and its induced Cyclonic Circulation has weakened. In the wake of these systems clearing, Northwesterly winds are likely to prevail over the plains of Northwest India. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, light rain and thundershower activity with cloudy weather was witnessed in parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh and Northeast Rajasthan. Places like Patiala, Ambala, Panchkula, Delhi’s Safdarjung, Bareilly, Moradabad, Alwar and Bharatpur were a witness to intermittent light rain and thundershower.
Since the system has now moved away, night temperatures are likely to fall marginally over the northwest plains. Also, shallow fog and mist might be seen over many parts of these regions. Marginal rise in day temperature could be a possibility with comfortable weather conditions. Sky will be mostly sunny with light to moderate dry winds. Evening and night would remain cool over the plains. Humidity levels are expected to drop post afternoon hours.
According to weathermen, another Western Disturbance would be affecting the hills of North by March 6. Hence, for the next two days the northwest plains of the country would witness pleasant weather conditions. Change in wind pattern to easterly and southeasterly is likely around March 7. Also, isolated light rainfall activity might occur over Chandigarh, Panchkula, Ambala, Moradabad, Delhi, Haryana, Gurugram and Faridabad today. Areas in close proximity to Delhi might witness development of thunderclouds.
