Intense summer heat has gripped several parts of the country. So much so that even the hills of North India have not been left far behind. Eastern parts of the country particularly Bihar has also been observing hot weather conditions with the temperatures settling above the normal levels.
However, parts of Bihar particularly the northeastern region of the state is expected to witness light rainfall as well as thunderstorm activity. In fact, the possibility of lightning activity also cannot be ruled out over these areas. These weather conditions are expected to continue for at least the next two days.
Areas including Purnea, Kishanganj and other regions in Northeast Bihar are expected to witness light showers. Lightning strikes are possible over these areas.
These weather conditions will be attributed to the presence of several weather features in close proximity of the region. While a cyclonic circulation persists over North Bihar, a trough is extending from this system up to Chhattisgarh across Jharkhand. Not only this, another east-west trough can be seen running from North Bihar to Nagaland across Bangladesh.
The regions where some weather activity will be observed are expected to witness a slight drop in temperatures. However, other parts will continue to observe hot weather conditions during the next few days.
