However, in an unusual turn of events, due to the persisting low pressure area in the Southeast Arabian Sea and its adjoining areas, clouding was persisting over Mumbai and adjoining areas yesterday. A trough was also running along the Konkan and Goa coast.
In fact, cloud cover was observed throughout the day which resulted in significant drop in temperatures. Thus, there was a significant drop in the maximum temperature and it went below the 30-degree mark.
Finally, the maximum settled at 28.3 degrees Celsius yesterday. Not only this, clouding was followed by light rainfall activity over the city of Mumbai. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, both Santa Cruz observatory and Colaba recorded traces of rain.
Now, rainfall will take a backseat, but temperatures will only increase gradually. After about 24 to 48 hours, temperatures will once again shoot up resulting in discomfort over the region.
