Weather has mainly remained dry for the last few days across Maharashtra, barring few parts of Konkan region that too has been recording light rains only.

According to Skymet Weather, at present, Monsoon is subdued over the region and its only localised factors and proximity to the coast which give some rains from time to time.

In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Alibag recorded 11 mm of rain, followed by Mahabaleshwar 9 mm, Harnai 8 mm, and Dahanu 3 mm. The state capital of Mumbai also remained mainly dry, with city settling with mere 1 mm of rains.

Though we do not much changes in the similar weather conditions but some spells of light may be seen over parts of Vidarbha. According to weathermen, a north-south trough is extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to South Tamil Nadu across South Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Moreover, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Southeast Rajasthan.

With this, scattered Monsoon rains are likely over Nagpur, Akola, Gondia and Chandrapur during the next 24 hours. Konkan region will see significant fall in the rain activity but again light rains cannot be ruled out.

Meanwhile, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra will remain mainly dry. However, there are chances of localised development of thunderclouds over few parts. For example, Pune could see some passing showers today.

After the next two days, the north-south trough is likely to shift westwards, which may then give some light rains over parts of Marathwada along with some areas of Vidarbha.
