Thereafter, rain intensity and spread will increase over Chennai. Simultaneously many other districts of the state will start receiving light to moderate rain and thundershower activities. With the ongoing showers, the weather across the regions will remain warm and humid.

These rains can be attributed to a trough which is extending from southwest Bay of Bengal to Interior Tamil Nadu thereafter moderate northeasterly winds will increase moisture over the entire state leading to good rains.
