Delhi has been witnessing dry weather conditions for the last two days, resulting in rise in mercury. According to Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough had shifted south of Delhi, which led to almost dry weather over the national capital.

A well-marked low pressure area had formed over Madhya Pradesh that has pulled the trough below. Now, the Monsoon system has weakened and is presently seen as a cyclonic circulation as Northwest Madhya Pradesh. Besides this, the circulation is expected to fade away soon, due to which Monsoon trough would once again start oscillating towards north.

During this oscillation, Delhi-NCR is likely to record scattered rains and thundershowers between August 11 and August 13. But once again, these rains will not be continuous and widespread in nature.

As per weathermen, we can expect mainly patchy showers which would last for short duration only. However, this approaching weather activity would be instrumental in bring down the maximum temperatures, which had been on rise during the last 48 hours. Nonetheless, rise in humidity will cause discomfort but nights will be comfortable.

August is the rainiest month for Delhi-NCR, with normal average rains of 232.5 mm. Till August 10, Delhi has only recorded mere 10 mm of rain.
