Rain stops in Kolkata, Indo-Pak match delayed

India Pakistan clashUpdated on 07:12 p.m - After generating much of curiosity, rains in Kolkata have finally stopped. However, the match that was scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm has been delayed by 20-30 minutes.

As per latest updates, authorities are preparing the ground at Eden Gardens for the match, which is likely to take some time.

Despite of rain, cricket fans have managed to reach at the venue much before time. As per media reports, the stadium was already full with the crowd ahead of the match, cheering for their respective teams.

Updated on 06:15 p.m - Rain has reduced in Kolkata. However, according to Skymet weather, the possibility of light rain is likely during next two hours. Most probably the match is likely to go uninterrupted. However, slight delay at the beginning could be caused by the heavy rain.

Updated on 05:56 p.m - While the clash of the titans at the famous Eden Gardens in Kolkata was not enough to scare the fans across the globe, weather decided to play foul at the crucial time. After giving a glimpse of its erratic nature, rain and thundershowers have returned to Kolkata with a possibility to hamper to the India-Pakistan WT20 match slated to be held at 7.30 p.m.

The city of Kolkata witnessed rains and drizzle on Saturday morning. The anxiety and anticipation is going way above notches with heavy rainfall pelting the Eden Gardens.

In the next few hours, light to moderate rain and thundershowers over scattered parts are likely over Hooghly, Howrah and Kolkata. Though everyone is expecting the match to go uninterrupted, a slight delay in the match due to unexpected heavy rainfall cannot be ruled out at this moment.
