Updated on November 28, 2015: Short spell of fresh rains and thundershowers are approaching parts of Madhya Maharashtra and adjoining Marathwada once again.

According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, scattered light to moderate showers can be witnessed over both the regions on November 30 and December 01.

Nashik, Pune, Aurangabad, Jalgaon and Ahmadnagar may receive rain during this period.

The rain activity will be a result of an interaction between southwesterly winds from Arabian Sea and southeasterly winds from Bay of Bengal.

Updated on November 25, 2015: In the next 48 to 72 hours, a trough is likely to develop, stretching from South Rajasthan to the northern coast of Maharashtra. It will feed the moist winds over northern parts of Maharashtra around November 27.

Cloud cover over the region will increase and comfortable weather conditions are likely to prevail. However, day conditions will continue to remain sultry. Few parts in North Maharashtra may witness isolated thundershowers between November 28 and 30. Day temperature over the interior parts of the region is likely to drop.

Mumbai will witness mainly dry weather conditions for the next 48 hours. Day conditions will be humid while evenings will be cooler due to the incoming sea breeze.

Updated on November 23, 2015: Fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall has occurred over several parts of Madhya Maharashtra during last 48 hours. One or two places also recorded isolated heavy showers.

Pune has received 95 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, which is highest rainfall recorded in 24 hours during last 10 years.

A trough extending from the low pressure area in East-central Arabian Sea till South Coastal Gujarat has been affecting the weather over Maharashtra. Due to this trough, humid southwesterly winds are blowing over Coastal and Madhya Maharashtra giving rain over both the regions.

Gradually this trough will become insignificant in span of next two to three days that will lead to substantial decrease in rainfall activity.

Month of November normally does not record much rains. Any rain activity during this time is on account of the weather systems developing in Arabian Sea and moving towards Indian coast.

Let us have a look at the rainfall figures recorded during last 24 hours.
