Southwest Monsoon 2016 concludes with normal rains
The four-month long Southwest Monsoon 2016 has finally come to an end, with the country recording 97% of normal rainfall during the season.
During the last 24 hours, vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Meanwhile, it remained active over most parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, parts of East Uttar Pradesh and NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura) region.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Port Blair recorded 111 mm of rain, Rewa 96 mm, Raipur 73 mm, Damoh 35 mm, Silchar 30 mm, Bhawanipatna 34 mm, Chandbali 27 mm, Gaya 24 mm, and Patna 23 mm.
Light to moderate showers were witnessed over Kerala and North Interior Karnataka. Scattered light rains were also observed over Coastal Tamil Nadu, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Telangana, Jharkhand, Assam and West Bengal.
Monsoon remained subdued over South Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra and rest of Tamil Nadu.
Monsoon has already started retreating from northwestern parts of the country. At present, the withdrawal line is passing through Kupwara, Kokernag, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Churu, Phalodi and Jaisalmer.
Active Monsoon observed over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh
Southwest Monsoon was active over most parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, North Andhra Pradesh coast, North Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura)
Subdued Southwest Monsoon conditions were observed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Meghalaya and southern Peninsula including Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and West Madhya Pradesh.
Northern Hills and Northwest Plains including Delhigo on to witness dry weather conditions.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Chennai received 82 mm of rainfall, Paradip 62 mm, Silchar 74 mm, Port Blair 71 mm, Rewa 70 mm and Contai witnessed 75 mm of rainfall.
Active Monsoon conditions was observed over most parts of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, North Andhra Pradesh coast, North Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura)

In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Daltonganj received 97 mm of rainfall, Puri 89 mm, Gorakhpur 79 mm, Mahabaleshwar 58 mm, Paradip 32 mm and Chandbali 31 mm.
In the next 24 hours, moderate with isolated heavy Monsoon rains are expected over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
Scattered light to moderate showers are likely over many parts of Northeast India, North Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu including Chennai.
Rest parts of the country will witness scattered rains barring the northern hills, northwest plains including Delhi and Gujarat where mainly dry weather conditions will persist.
Southwest Monsoon gives heavy rains over Chhattisgarh
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed in many parts of Chhattisgarh.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Raipur received 49.4 mm of rainfall, Bilaspur 39.3 mm, Pendra 24.3 mm and Durg 21 mm.
Southwest Monsoon continued to remain active over Vidarbha, Telangana including Hyderabad, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Subdued Monsoon conditions were observed over most parts of South Peninsula inclusive of West Coast, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh.
North India and Northwest Plains including Delhi continued to witness dry weather conditions.
In the next 24 hours moderate to heavy Monsoon rains are expected over Vidarbha and South Chhattisgarh.
Light to moderate Monsoon rains are likely over Telangana including Hyderabad, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, North Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Bihar, Jharkhand, North Chhattisgarh, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya.
Rest of Northeastern states, Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Marathwada will witness scattered light rains.
South Peninsula inclusive of the West Coast will also witness some Monsoon rains.
Meanwhile, the northern hills and the northwest plains of India including Delhi will go on to witness dry weather conditions.
Vigorous Monsoon over parts of East India
Monsoon was seen Vigorous over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, parts of Chhattisgarh and North Bihar.
Active monsoon conditions were observed over Telangana, North Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and South Konkan and Goa.
East Uttar Pradesh, North Karnataka and Rest parts of northeastern states witnessed normal Monsoon conditions.
Northwest plains including Delhi, Northern hills and Kutch region in Gujarat witnessed dry weather conditions.
In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Pendra road and Malanjkhand observed 78 mm of rains each, Khandwa witnessed 57 mm showers, Nizamabad with 40 mm wet spells, Bagdogra 43, Dhubri 48, Durg 77 and Purnea witnessed 60 mm of rainfall.
During next 24 hours, scattered moderate rains along with a few isolated heavy spells are likely over North Telangana, parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, NMMT regions, Meghalaya, South Assam and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Monsoon remained vigorous over Konkan & Goa
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed in Maharashtra especially in over South Konkan & Goa, Marathwada and Vidarbha region of the state. Few areas in the region even touched triple digit rainfall.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Ratnagiri received 88 mm of rainfall, Harnai 158 mm, and Chandrapur 120 mm, Karwar received 23 mm of rain, Honnavar 20 mm, Mangalore 16, Goa 15 mm and Dahanu 9 mm.
Southwest Monsoon continued to remain active over Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, most of the Northeast States, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and East Madhya Pradesh.
Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over North Interior Karnataka, Jharkhand, and West Madhya Pradesh. Subdued Monsoon conditions continued over Kerala, South Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Gangetic West Bengal.
Rest of the country from Gujarat to Rajasthan and most of the Gangetic plains will witness dry weather conditions.
In the next 24 hours moderate to heavy Monsoon rains are expected over South Konkan and Goa, Telangana, Vidarbha and Marathwada. Isolated heavy rains are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Northeastern states North Bihar.
Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Konkan
Konkan and Goa, parts of Maharashtra and Telangana witnessed vigorous Monsoon conditions. So much so that heavy to very heavy rains were witnessed over these areas. In fact, many areas also recorded rains in three digits.
In a span of 24 hours, Alibag witnessed a whopping 193 mm of rain, followed by Ratnagiri where 173 mm of rainfall was observed. Other areas to have received good Monsoon rains include Mumbai 166 mm, Harnai 135 mm, and Karwar 66 mm.
Southwest Monsoon continued to remain active over Coastal Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, North Coastal Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, foothills of Uttar Pradesh. Good rains were witnessed over these parts as well. Not only this, Jaipur and Churu in Rajasthan also received 59 mm and 36 mm rain, respectively.
During the last 24 hours, Nizamabad witnessed 95 mm of rain, Dibrugarh 56 mm, Chandbali 54 mm, Nizamabad 95 mm, and Nanded 47 mm.
Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over North Interior Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Interior Odisha with isolated rainfall over South Interior Karnataka.
During the next 24 hours, Southwest Monsoon will continue to remain vigorous over the West Coast along with Telangana and Marathwada.
Monsoon continues to remain vigorous over Konkan and Goa

Vigorous southwest Monsoon conditions were observed over Konkan and Goa including Maharashtra and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Harnai recorded extremely heavy rains of 136.7 mm, Alibag 96 mm, Mahabaleshwar recorded 41 mm and Mumbai witnessed moderate showers of 45.2 mm.
Southwest Monsoon was active over Andaman and Nicobar Island, Assam, Meghalaya, Telangana including Hyderabad and, Rayalaseema.
During the similar time frame, Silchar recorded 58 mm rains, Car Nicobar and Cherrapunji recorded 19 mm rains each, Kalingapatnam 22.6 mm, Hyderabad witnessed heavy rains of 73.1 mm.
Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kerala and Tamil Nadu witnessed subdued Monsoon conditions. While, parts of Karnataka observed light to moderate showers.
During next 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers are expected over Telangana, Hyderabad, Rayalaseema, Marathwada and Kutch region in Gujarat.
Moderate to isolated heavy rains are likely over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, South Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Light to moderate showers are expected over coastal Karnataka, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, northeastern states, east Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal.

Vigorous Monsoon brings torrential rains over Mumbai, Coastal Maharashtra
Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai during the last 24 hours. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Harnai recorded 219 mm of rain, Mumbai 145 mm, Dahanu 111 mm, Mahabaleswar 106 mm and Alibag 73 mm.
Active Monsoon conditions were seen over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal and Sikkim. Moderate rains with isolated heavy showers were observed over northeastern states, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Northwest Uttar Pradesh and parts of Haryana and Punjab.
Scattered rains were also witnessed over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka. Meanwhile, isolated showers were seen over Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
Tuni received 69 mm, Malda 70 mm, Bareilly 71 mm, Shillong 60 mm, Bapatla 59 mm, Dehradun 24 mm, and Ambala 12 mm.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains will continue over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai. Telangana, remaining parts of Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka will also witness similar rain activity.

The Monsoon withdrawal line continues to pass through Anupgarh, Bikaner and Jaisalmer.
Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over North Konkan and Goa including Mumbai and Saurashtra. Active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Northeast India inclusive of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, giving moderate to heavy rains over the region. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Dahanu recorded 529 mm of Monsoon showers, Mumbai 143 mm, Itanagar 125 mm, Jalpaiguri 94 mm and Dhubri also 84 mm of rainfall.
Subdued weather activity was observed over West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Dry weather continues over the northwest plains.
During the next 24 hours, moderate with isolated heavy falls are expected over most parts of Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Telangana, Rayalaseema, adjoining areas of North Karnataka and Northeast India including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya. Monsoon was active over South Gujarat, parts of West Madhya Pradesh and Northeast India inclusive sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya, Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, giving moderate to heavy rains over the region. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Gangtok recorded 119 mm of Monsoon showers, Mahabaleshwar 75 mm, Long Island 58 mm, and Mahuva also 54 mm of rainfall.
Light to moderate rains were observed over Coastal Karnataka, Telangana, Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata and adjoining North Odisha.

Monsoon was vigorous over Gujarat, giving heavy rains over the region. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Mahuva recorded 105 mm of Monsoon showers, Amreli 96 mm and Bhavnagar also recorded 93 mm of rainfall.
Active Monsoon conditions were observed over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, East Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Konkan and Goa including Mumbai.
In a span of 24 hours, Harnai witnessed a whopping 174 mm of rain, followed by Mahabaleshwar recording 119 mm rainfall, Bhira 63 mm and Kailashahar 86 mm.
In the meantime, entire northwest India, East Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala witnessed subdued Monsoon conditions.

Light to moderate rains are expected at many places over Northeast India.

During the last 24 hours, good Monsoon showers were observed over many parts of the country. However. Almost entire Northwest India remained mostly dry during the above mentioned time frame.
Southwest Monsoon continued to remain vigorous over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada. Heavy to very heavy rains were recorded over the region with many cities receiving rains in three digits. In a span of 24 hours, Harnai witnessed a whopping 286 mm of rain followed by Mahabaleshwar recording 238 mm rainfall, Colaba in Mumbai received 104 mm, Ratnagiri 47 mm, and Parbhani 46 mm.
Active Monsoon conditions were observed over Southwest Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, and North Interior Karnataka. Southwest Monsoon remained normal over Northeast India. Many states in the region recorded light to moderate rains.
Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, South Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu, Northwest India including Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Kutch witnessed subdued Monsoon conditions.
Similar weather conditions are likely during the next 24 hours as well with Konkan, South Gujarat, parts of Madhya Maharashtra and South Madhya Pradesh receiving good Monsoon showers.
Monsoon gives heavy rains over Mumbai, withdraws from parts of West Rajasthan
The Southwest Monsoon has commenced to withdraw from some parts of West Rajasthan. The withdrawal line is presently passing through Anupgarh, Bikaner and Jaisalmer.
Monsoon was vigorous over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and South Gujarat, giving heavy to very heavy rains. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Dahanu recorded 347 mm of rain, followed by Harnai 101 mm, Washim 86 mm, Mumbai 81 mm, Adilabad 73 mm, Parbhani 60.2 mm, Nanded 54. 5 mm, Bulsar 51 mm, Aurangabad 49 mm, and Surat 34 mm.
Active Monsoon conditions were observed over Madhya Pradesh, North Tamil Nadu including Chennai, and Chhattisgarh. Bhopal received 27 mm, Satna 15 mm, Umaria 14.6 mm, Ambikapur 13 mm, Vellore 8.6 mm, Dharmapuri 5 mm, Khandwa 3 mm, and Coonoor 3 mm.
Monsoon remained subdued over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Interior Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, weather was mainly dry over Northwest India including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Kutch and most parts of Northwest Madhya Pradesh.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains will continue over Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, South Madhya Pradesh and South Gujarat.
Mumbai is likely to witness heavy to very heavy Monsoon rains, while Kolkata and Chennai may see light to moderate showers.

The Southwest Monsoon was active to vigorous over Marathwada, North Interior Karnataka, Jharkhand, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Coastal Karnataka, North Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal and parts of East and Central Uttar Pradesh received scattered light to moderate rains.
Scattered rains were also observed over South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and parts of Haryana and Delhi-NCR.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Bapatla recorded 58 mm of rain, Shantiniketan 58 mm, Mumbai 49 mm, Gulbarga 36 mm, Dahanu 35 mm, Narsapur 31 mm, Chitradurga 22 mm, Kannur 21 mm, Bijapur 20 mm, Machilipatnam 12 mm, Gondia 8 mm, Delhi 5.6 mm, Ambikapur 5 mm, and Gopalpur 5 mm.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains are expected over Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa. Mumbai is also likely to see some heavy rains in span of next 2-3 days.
Moderate rains with isolated heavy showers are also likely over Vidarbha, South Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Karnataka and adjoining North Interior Karnataka.

Active Monsoon gives good rains over West Coast and Northeast India
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Monsoon was active over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Northeastern states, Odisha and also along the West Coast.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Tuni recorded 111 mm of rain followed by Bidar 110 mm, Lengpui 81 mm, Gulbarga 80 mm, Kailashahar 72 mm, Latur 62 mm, Nanded and Purulia 60 mm of rainfall.
Meanwhile, Monsoon remained subdued over the northwestern plains inclusive of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR.
Conditions are becoming favorable for the withdrawal of Monsoon in West Rajasthan in the next 3-4 days.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate rains with few isolated heavy spells are expected over Rayalaseema, Marathwada, South Telangana and North Karnataka. Light to moderate Monsoon rains are also likely over Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, West coast, South Chhattisgarh, Central Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, NMMT (Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura) and coastal parts of Gujarat.

Monsoon active over Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal
Active Monsoon conditions were seen over parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, South Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Monsoon was normal over parts of West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Ongole recorded 145 mm of rain, Bhagalpur 65 mm, Bapatla 54 mm, Bankura 42 mm, and Bareilly 37 mm.
Meanwhile, Monsoon remained subdued over Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate rains with isolated heavy rains will continue over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Southeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra.
Scattered light to moderate Monsoon rains are also likely over Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata, Bihar, Jharkhand, East and Central Uttar Pradesh, Interior Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh.
West Coast, Coastal Tamil Nadu, and NMMT (Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura) are also likely to record some good showers. Scattered light Monsoon rains may also occur over Gujarat, Interior Karnataka, and Uttarakhand.
Major cities of Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai will receive scattered rains, while weather in Delhi will remain mainly dry with chances of very lights over one or two places.
Southwest Monsoon active over Northeast and East India
During the last 24 hours, active Monsoon conditions were observed over many parts of Assam, Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Vidarbha. While moderate rains were recorded in many parts, a few areas even recorded heavy rain spells during the aforementioned time frame.
Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Interior Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand. Here light to moderate rains were recorded in a span of 24 hours.
Many parts of Tamil Nadu, West Coast, Central India, Northwest India along with West Uttar Pradesh, and many parts of Maharashtra could only witness subdued Monsoon rains.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Patna received a whopping 134 mm of rain followed by 74 mm rain in Darjeeling. Other areas to have received good rains include Durg 68.6 mm, Tuni 47 mm, and Puri 44.5 mm of rainfall.
During the next 24 hours, good Monsoon rains are expected over East India along with parts of the East Coast. Moderate rains are also likely over Telangana and Vidarbha. Chennai and Delhi may witness a few spells of Monsoon rains.
Monsoon remains active over East Coast of India
Monsoon remained active over various parts of India. Places like the foothills of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim received moderate showers with few heavy spells over the region.
Meanwhile, moderate Monsoon rains were observed over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada. Scattered light rain and thundershowers were also observed over Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, North Kerala and South Interior Karnataka.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Lakhimpur recorded 91 mm of rain; Jharsuguda in Odisha received 71 mm rains, Jagdalpur 59 mm, Silchar and Chennai both received 53 mm and Brahmapuri & Lumding received 46 mm each.
The entire northwestern plains observed dry weather including Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR.
Rainfall is expected to increase over parts of Konkan & Goa with the advent of the weather system from East Coast. The weather system is a cyclonic circulation but this will become a low pressure system soon.
The cumulative rainfall figure of the entire country is at 5% below the normal rains.
Active Monsoon gives good rains in Bihar, East UP, Odisha, Northeast
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the last 24 hours. Monsoon was active over Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
Meanwhile, normal Monsoon rains were observed over Andhra Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh and Coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Scattered light rain and thundershowers were also observed over coastal parts of Kerala, Karnataka and Coastal Maharashtra.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Bhabanipatnam recorded 110 mm of rain, Motihari 126 mm, Goalpara 55 mm, Tadong 50 mm, Chennai 43 mm, Gangtok 43 mm, Durg 31 mm and Mumbai 27 mm.
Meanwhile, northwestern plains inclusive of Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR remained mainly dry.
As we proceed further, monsoon rains are likely to intensify over Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu including Chennai. All thanks to the development of fresh cyclonic circulation in west-central Bay of Bengal.
Moderate Monsoon rains with isolated heavy showers will also continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya.
Light rain and thundershowers also cannot be ruled out over Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and over few parts of Coastal Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka and Konkan and Goa.
Active Monsoon gives moderate rains over East and Northeast India
Active Monsoon continued to give mainly moderate rains over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Few parts have also recorded heavy rains.
All thanks to the low pressure area which continues to persist over Jharkhand and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal for the last couple of days.
Madhya Maharashtra, South Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka, and Odisha witnessed scattered light to moderate rains. Isolated light rains also occurred over parts of Southeast Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep islands.
Meanwhile, remaining parts of the country including Delhi-NCR continued with dry weather conditions.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Pasighat recorded 119 mm of rain, Port Blair 72 mm, Bulsar 44 mm, North Lakhimpur 32 mm, Phulbani 23.6 mm, and Katra 22.8 mm.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate Monsoon rains with few heavy showers will continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Chhattisgarh.
Now with development of a fresh Monsoon system in west-central Bay of Bengal, scattered light to moderate rains may occur over parts of Telangana and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Scattered light rains are also likely over South Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and parts of Coastal Tamil Nadu.
Active Monsoon gives good rains over East India
During the last 24 hours, active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Scattered light to moderate rains were recorded over South Coastal Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Odisha, North Chhattisgarh and NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura) region.
Gaya has recorded 108 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday. This was followed by Port Blair 77 mm, Jamshedpur 42 mm, Patna 41 mm, Pasighat 41 mm, Gorakhpur 37 mm, Ambikapur 21 mm, Malda 12 mm, Surat 13 mm, Dahanu 10 mm, and Mangalore 7 mm.
Isolated rains were also seen over Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep Islands. Meanwhile mainly dry weather conditions were seen over North India including Delhi-NCR.
During the next 24 hours, moderate Monsoon rains with isolated heavy showers will continue over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and over parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh. However, rains will significantly decrease over Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata.
Madhya Maharashtra and some parts of South Gujarat could also see some light rains, while isolated showers are expected along the West Coast, Coastal Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand.
Northern plains will continue with dry weather for the next few days.
Monsoon remains vigorous over Gangetic West Bengal
Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over Gangetic West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands, while it was active over Jharkhand, Bihar, South Coastal Gujarat and Northeast India.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Port Blair recorded 197 mm of rain, Shantiniketan 82.8 mm, Daltonganj received 59 mm, Bhavnagar 53 mm, Jorhat 45 mm, Dibrugarh 39 mm, Bankura 39 mm, and Silchar 36 mm.
Scattered light to moderate rains were witnessed over Odisha, North Interior Karnataka and along the West Coast including Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, and North Kerala. Paradip received 22 mm of rain, Ratnagiri 17 mm, Harnai 17 mm, Kannur 14 mm, and Bhubaneswar 7 mm.
South Interior Karnataka and Coastal Tamil Nadu also saw scattered light rains, whereas East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha region of Maharashtra and Uttarakhand received isolated rains.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate Monsoon rains with isolated heavy showers will continue over West Bengal including Kolkata, while rain belt will also include Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya.
East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, some parts of South Gujarat, Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka will witness scattered light to moderate rains and thundershowers.
Scattered light rains can be expected over West Madhya Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka during the next 24 hours. Isolated showers also cannot be ruled out over Madhya Maharashtra, Southeast Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
Weather will be dry over remaining parts of the country including Delhi-NCR.
Southwest Monsoon vigorous over East India
During the last 24 hours, vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed over many parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, as well as South Bihar. In fact, several areas have recorded three digit rains including Gaya where 236 mm of rain was received. Other areas to have received heavy rains include Jamshedpur 156 mm and Kolkata 132 mm.
Southwest Monsoon remained active over Odisha, rest of Bihar and Northeast India. These Monsoon conditions can be attributed to the presence of a Low Pressure Area which is currently over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh.
Southwest Monsoon remained subdued over the North Andhra Pradesh Coast, West Coast, South Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, and East Uttar Pradesh. Other parts of the country witnessed mostly dry weather conditions.
During the next 24 hours, similar weather conditions are expected over East and Northeast India as the weather system is expected to persist for some time. There may be more three digit showers tomorrow as well.
Monsoon remained active over East India
Active Monsoon conditions were observed over Odisha Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. During last 24 hours, Chandbali observed hefty showers of 52 mm, Pasighat recorded whopping 73 mm rainfall, Bankura recorded 33 mm and Jamshedpur observed 41 mm rains.
Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand witnessed scattered rains. During the aforesaid time frame, Dehradun witnessed a whopping 80 mm rainfall and Una recorded 19 mm showers.
East Punjab and adjoining North Haryana observed isolated showers.
Scattered light rains occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka.
Coastal Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh and South Gujarat witnessed isolated scattered rains.
Monsoon remained subdued over rest parts of the country.
Low pressure area to bring good rains in East India
Southwest Monsoon was active over parts of East India including Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and East Madhya Pradesh. In the span of 24 hours, Sambalpur received 150 mm of rain, Itanagar 74 mm and Koraput 14 mm.
Due to the movement of the axis of the Monsoon trough good Monsoon rains were also recorded in East Bihar along the foothills, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, many place sin Odisha got bountiful of rains. Sambalpur with 150 mm rains, Titlagarh 59 mm, Baripada received 57 mm of rains, Bhawanipatna recorded 57 mm of rain as well.
Other areas that received good showers include Panagarh in West Bengal which received 63 mm of rainfall, Mayabander in Andaman & Nicobar Islands received 55 mm and Car Nicobar in Andaman & Nicobar Islands received 43 mm of rains.
Very light rain was observed over several parts of West Coast including Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka. While Monsoon conditions over Kerala remained subdued.
Scattered light to moderate Monsoon rains can be observed over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India. Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh will also receive good rains.
During the next 24 hours, good Southwest Monsoon rains can be observed over many places Odisha, West Bengal and East Bihar. Few places could receive heavy spells of rainfall as well.

Active Monsoon conditions were also observed over several parts of West Coast including Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka.
Southwest Monsoon remained subdued over Gujarat, most of Rajasthan, North Indian plains, West Madhya Pradesh, along with parts of Interior Peninsular India.
During the next 24 hours, Southwest Monsoon will give good rains over many parts of East India, Northeast India, Maharashtra, and West Coast.
Vigorous Monsoon gives torrential rains over Northeast India
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya during the last 24 hours, giving some extremely heavy rains over parts of region. Cherrapunji recorded 296 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, while Pasighat received 265 mm of rain.The Southwest Monsoon was active over Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Kerala, Coastal Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, West Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana and Delhi.
Cooch Behar observed 62 mm of rain, followed by North Lakhimpur 40 mm, Karwar 37 mm, Mangan 33 mm, Dibrugarh 33 mm, Chennai 26 mm, Bapatla 21 mm, Delhi 19 mm, Patiala 16 mm, Ahmedabad 12 mm and Amritsar 11 mm.
Meanwhile, West Gujarat, West Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and many parts of Maharashtra continues with subdued Monsoon rains.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains with isolated very heavy spells will continue over parts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalyan West Bengal, and Sikkim. North Bihar, foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, South Chhattisgarh will also receive moderate to heavy showers.

Monsoon vigorous over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi
The Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi giving moderate to heavy showers over the region.
Active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over parts of East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, East Gujarat, Rayalaseema, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, and Northeast India.
Few places have also recorded heavy rainfall during the last 24 hours as well. Pasighat was the rainiest city in the country with 193 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday. This was followed by Kavali 97 mm, Kota 78 mm, Ambikapur 73 mm, Delhi 56 mm, Karaikal 52 mm, Aurangabad 34 mm, Hoshangabad 34 mm, Digha 31 mm, Jhansi 25 mm, Bhubaneswar 21 mm and Visakhapatnam 19 mm.
Meanwhile, subdued Monsoon rains were observed over Saurashtra and Kutch region and North and West Rajasthan.
During the next 24 hours, moderate rains with isolated heavy spells are expected over Marathwada and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, Telangana, Sub-Himalyan West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India.

Vigorous Monsoon over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu
Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu. During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Kurnool witnessed hefty showers of 77 mm, Vijayawada recorded 72 mm rainfall and Chennai observed heavy showers of 27 mm.
Active Southwest Monsoon conditions were observed over Rajasthan, East Gujarat wherein, Ahmadabad recorded 19.6 mm rains.
Similar Monsoon conditions were observed over remaining parts of Andhra Pradesh, North Karnataka, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana, along the West Coast and Northeast India. During last 24 hours, Silchar observed heavy rainfall of 84 mm.
During the similar time frame, Bahraich recorded 73 mm of rain, Varanasi 40 mm, Bangalore 32 mm, Honavar 71.6 mm, Hyderabad 17.6 mm and Agumbe 45.2 mm.
Parts of Bihar and Jharkhand also witness increased rain activity.
Southwest Monsoon remained subdued over Kutch and West Rajasthan and rest of the country recorded normal rains.

The Southwest Monsoon has been active over East Madhya Pradesh, North Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India on the day gone by.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Jammu recorded 97 mm of rain, Kolkata 79 mm, Cuddalore 73 mm, Ongole 64 mm, Alappuzha 57 mm, Pendra 54 mm, Sagar 40 mm and Delhi 21.8 mm.
Monsoon remained subdued over most parts of Kutch, West Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra and South Kerala, which were mainly dry.
Further during the next 24 hours, scattered moderate rains with isolated heavy showers are likely over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.
Moderate showers are also expected over Coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed over few parts of Northeast India particularly over Arunachal Pradesh. Monsoon was also vigorous over northern parts of Rajasthan along with a few areas in the Punjab region.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Pasighat recorded a whopping 111 mm of rainfall, followed by 61.1 mm of rain in Churu. Other areas to have received good rains include Mount Abu 40 mm, Chittorgarh 28 mm, and Jaipur 17.8 mm.
Southwest Monsoon was active over several parts of Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, West Coast and Madhya Pradesh. Moderate rains were recorded over many parts of the above mentioned regions. In a span of 24 hours, Bhatinda recorded a good 68 mm of rain, Bhira 59 mm, Indore 31 mm, and Honavar 31 mm.

Monsoon active over Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh
Southwest Monsoon has been active over South and West Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh, Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka.
In a span of 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Saturday Kota in Rajasthan received 97 mm of rainfall while Jaisalmer recorded 90 mm. Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh recorded 106 mm of rainfall.
In the West Coast, Mumbai received 52 mm of rainfall, Ratnagiri 53 mm and Dahanu 41 mm.
In Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada received 70 mm of Monsoon showers, Machilipatnam recorded 59 mm and Bapatla 47 mm.
Subdued Monsoon rains were witnessed over East Madhya Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Northeast India.
Tomorrow, Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring moderate to heavy showers over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Southeast Rajasthan, parts of Gujarat, Konkan and Goa.
We can also expect some good rains over Coastal Karnataka, interiors of Maharashtra, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Northeast India.
During the last 24 hours, Vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed over Konkan and Goa. So much so that even Mumbai recorded heavy rains of 106 mm after a long time. Other areas in Coastal Maharashtra also recorded rains in three digits including Harnai 130 mm, and Alibag 107 mm.
Southwest Monsoon was also vigorous over Andaman and Nicobar islands wherein Port Blair recorded a whopping 179 mm of rain being the rainiest city in India.
Southwest Monsoon was active over other parts of West Coast barring Kerala. Good Monsoon rains were also recorded over several parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh as well as Odisha. The Low Pressure Area over west-central Bay of Bengal has resulted in active Monsoon conditions over Andhra Pradesh as well.
Monsoon rains remained subdued over Rajasthan, Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, Interior Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, Telangana, South Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Normal Monsoon conditions were witnessed over other parts of the country.
Active Monsoon conditions over Andhra Pradesh, South Rajasthan and North Kerala
Monsoon was active over Madhya Pradesh, South Rajasthan and Gujarat. During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Seoni witnessed a three digit rainfall of 117.6 mm while Jabalpur received a whopping 61 mm of rain and Barmer witnessed 23 mm showers.
Konkan & Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and North Kerala and South Chhattisgarh witnessed similar Monsoon conditions. During the similar time frame, Visakhapatnam observed 46 mm rains, Ongole witnessed 30 mm showers and Mangalore 24.1 mm rainfall.
Delhi and adjoining Punjab, Haryana and some parts of Uttar Pradesh also witnessed light Monsoon showers.
Apart from West Rajasthan, other regions of the country witnessed normal Monsoon conditions.
The axis of Monsoon trough is seen extending from Phalodi, Ajmer, Tikamgarh, Sidhi, Ranchi, Digha, towards northeast Bay of Bengal.
An offshore trough is also running from Maharashtra to north Kerala.
Active Monsoon prevails over North and Western India
Monsoon was active over Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and north Kerala. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Mahabaleshwar recorded 50 mm of rainfall along with Agumbe with 27.9 mm and Rajkot recording 22.4 mm showers.
Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of northeast states also witnessed active Monsoon activities. During the similar time frame, Jammu witnessed 26 mm of showers along with Manali recording 29 mm rainfall. Sundarnagar and Bhaderwah recorded 22.9 mm and 22.6 mm rainfall respectively.
Monsoon was seen active over Rajasthan, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh as well.
Monsoon remained subdued over East India where only few light to moderate spells have been witnessed. However, the interiors of southern peninsular India along with Punjab, Haryana and Maharashtra observed a few light wet spells.
Monsoon remained normal over the rest parts of the country observed normal Monsoon.
The axis of Monsoon trough is seen extending from Jaisalmer, center of Low Pressure Area, Guna, Pendra, Balasore and towards northeast Bay of Bengal.
An offshore trough from Maharashtra to north Kerala also persists.
Heavy Monsoon rains over Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP, Konkan and Goa
The Monsoon was active over Gujarat, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, and Coastal Karnataka. Moderate to heavy rains recorded across most parts of these regions during the last 24 hours. Few places have also recorded extremely heavy rains. All thanks to the low pressure areas prevailing over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, respectively.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Vengurla received 104 mm of rain, Bhira 99 mm, Deesa 83 mm, Chandbali 73 mm, Mahabaleswar 68 mm, Ahmedabad 62 mm, Karwar 62 mm, Panjim 60 mm, Rajgarh 46 mm, Kakinada 39 mm, and Guna 30 mm.
Meanwhile subdued rains continued over parts of Tamil Nadu, South Kerala, Rayalaseema, Telangana, West Bengal, North Bihar, Haryana, Delhi and Northeast India.
During the next 24 hours, moderate rains will continue over many parts of West Madhya Pradesh, South and East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala. Few places are likely to recorded isolated heavy rains also.
Delhi-NCR, Kolkata and Chennai are also likely to get scattered light to moderate showers.
Monsoon active over South Rajasthan and flood hit Madhya Pradesh
Active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over parts of South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Konkan and Goa.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Asansol recorded 94.5 mm, Darjeeling 74.6 mm, Daltonganj 62 mm, Nainital 56 mm, Bhira 57 mm, Allahabad 50.8 mm, Mahabaleswar 38 mm, Khandwa 37 mm, Ranchi 36 mm, Rewa 26 mm, and Umaria 25 mm.
Subdued Monsoon continued over Northeast India, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, most parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi.
During the next 24 hours, moderate Monsoon rains with isolated heavy rains are expected over South and East Rajasthan and adjoining Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala.
Light to moderate showers may occur over few places of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Marathwada, Telangana and Interior Odisha. Tamil Nadu including Chennai could also see some light showers.
Isolated light showers may also occur over Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.
Southwest Monsoon remains vigorous over East India
Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar. Heavy to very heavy rainfall was witnessed over these regions. Panagarh received a mammoth 197 mm of rains while other places in West Bengal received very heavy triple digit rains. Bankura received 173 mm, Burdhwan received 169 mm, Bagati 135, Sriniketan 131 and Canning 102 mm of rainfall.
Active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over the Coastal Odisha. And light to heavy spells were recorded in Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka. Scattered light to moderate spell were recorded in East and South Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra.
Weather remained subdued over Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, North Rajasthan and West Gujarat.
There are multiple weather systems that are affecting the entire country. Like a low pressure area is seen over South Rajasthan and adjoining areas. Another low pressure area is seen over Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal.
The axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Phalodi, center of low pressure area over South Rajasthan, Banda, Varanasi, Gaya, center of low pressure area over Bangladesh and West Bengal and then seen going towards Southeastwards towards Northeast Bay of Bengal.
At present the entire India is experiencing rainfall deficiency of 1%. In comparison, Central India is 9% rainfall surplus, Northwest India is at 6% surplus, and East and Northeast India is 17% rainfall deficient.
Southwest Monsoon continues its mar over Rajasthan
The Southwest Monsoon continued to be vigorous over several parts of Madhya Pradesh. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Bhopal recorded 29.4 mm of rain, Guna 19.9, Indore 58.7 mm, and Ujjain touched a whopping 165 mm of rainfall.
Active Monsoon conditions were seen over North Punjab and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir, East Rajasthan, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura and parts of Gangetic West Bengal. Few places in Rajasthan received heavy rainfall like Chittorgarh received 129 mm of rains. Kota and Mount Abu received 16.8 mm and 18.8 mm of rainfall.
The rainiest place in the country was Pratapgarh in Rajasthan that recorded a mammoth figure of 210 mm of rains.
Rain and thundershowers observed along the West Coast, East Gujarat, West Rajasthan, North Kerala, Karnataka, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, North Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. All the regions had witnessed mainly dry weather.
Further during the next 24 hours, Moderate to heavy spell expected over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, North Odisha, South Bihar and North Chhattisgarh during next 24 hours.
Light to moderate rain and thundershower is expected over Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

Vigorous Monsoon to give torrential rains over Madhya Pradesh

The Southwest Monsoon was vigorous over several parts of Madhya Pradesh, South Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Sagar recorded 164 mm of rain, Bhopal 115, Damoh 109 mm, Tikamgarh 83 mm, Guna 82 mm, and Jhansi 22 mm.
Active Monsoon conditions were seen along the West Coast and remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh. Northern plains including Haryana, Punjab and Delhi along with East Rajasthan received light rains only.
Monsoon was subdued over Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Interior Peninsular India, and remaining parts of Maharashtra. All the regions had witnessed mainly dry weather.
Further during the next 24 hours, active to vigorous Monsoon conditions will be seen over West Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and adjoining Northeast Gujarat. All the regions are likely to record moderate to heavy showers.
Parts of Southwest Uttar Pradesh and South Haryana are also expected to receive moderate rain.
Intensity of rains will also increase along the West Coast including Mumbai and over Northeast India. Meanwhile, northern plains along with Delhi will have mainly dry weather with partly cloudy sky.
Southwest Monsoon remains vigorous over Madhya Pradesh
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas during the last 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rains were recorded over many cities with multiple three digit rains.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Rewa recorded a whopping 144 of rain followed by Khajuraho where 140 mm rain was received. Other areas with good rains include Satna 134 mm, Umaria 47.6 mm, Gwalior 28 mm, and Sagar 18.3 mm.
Active Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Konkan and Goa along with Coastal Karnataka. Good rains were recorded over many areas including Ambikapur 66 mm, Daltonganj 43 mm, Gaya 13 mm, and Varanasi 16 mm.
However, subdued Monsoon rains continued over Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Interior Peninsular India, rest of Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir along with Northeast India.
During the next 24 hours, Monsoon will remain active to vigorous over parts of Madhya Pradesh. Adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh may also receive good Monsoon rains.
Southwest Monsoon remains vigorous over East India
Southwest Monsoon was seen vigorous over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and North Odisha. During last 24 hours, Jamshedpur recorded a whopping 270 mm rainfall. At the same time, Kolkata’s Alipore observatory recorded heavy showers of 79 mm.
Active Monsoon conditions was witnessed in Chhattisgarh parts of East Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh. Few places in Uttar Pradesh recorded good rainfall, Bahraich 18 mm, Hardoi 31.2 mm and Jhansi recorded 26.8 mm. Few places in Madhya Pradesh recorded good rainfall figures: Khajuraho recorded 46 mm, Rewa 36.4 mm, and Seoni 24.2 mm.
Good rain and thundershowers observed over few places in Northern hills of India, Northwest Plains including Delhi, West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh.
West Coast of India and Northeast India observed scattered light rain. Churu in Rajasthan received 7.8 mm of rains, while places in West Coast like Mahabaleshwar recorded 18.4 mm of rains and Mangalore recorded 24.6 mm of rains. The southern peninsular India remained mainly dry along with Gujarat and West Rajasthan.
Rest parts of the country observed subdued Southwest Monsoon activity.
Southwest Monsoon vigorous over Coastal Odisha
Southwest Monsoon was seen vigorous over coastal Odisha along with Northeastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. During last 24 hours, Chandbali recorded a whopping 168.2 mm rainfall. At the same time, Satna observed heavy showers of 165 mm.
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were also observed over parts of Uttar Pradesh. Wherein, few districts have recorded heavy showers including Gorakhpur that recorded 84 mm heavy showers followed by Bareilly which has observed 76 mm rainfall.
Good rains were observed over interior Odisha, Jharkhand, East Madhya Pradesh and northeastern states along the west coast. Southwest Monsoon was observed normal in these regions. In a span of 24 hours, Balasore recorded 90 mm rainfall and Khajuraho observed 140 mm of heavy showers.
South interior Karnataka also witnessed normal Monsoon conditions and few parts of the state had observed good rains. During the same time frame, Bangalore witnessed 7.5 mm wet spells.
Southwest Monsoon remained subdued over rest parts of the country. Rajasthan, Gujarat and few areas of northern and Central India have received less or no rainfall.
Southwest Monsoon remains active over East and Central India
Southwest Monsoon has remained active over parts of Central India including East Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. Good Monsoon rains have also been recorded over some parts of Uttar Pradesh. These Monsoon showers can be attributed to the low pressure area which persists over Southeast Uttar Pradesh.
During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Bareilly recorded a whopping 81.8 mm rainfall followed by Jabalpur where 71 mm of rain was received.
Moderate to heavy Monsoon rains have also been witnessed in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Dharamsala recorded 102 mm of rain, and Shimla received 28 mm rain.
Northeast India also received scattered moderate to heavy Monsoon rains with Tezpur receiving 78 mm of rainfall.
Both Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha witnessed good Monsoon showers owing to the low pressure area which has developed in North Bay of Bengal. Puri received 55 mm of rain, while Visakhapatnam received 32 mm of rainfall.
Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over the West Coast with a few areas receiving light to moderate Monsoon rains.
Southwest Monsoon remained subdued over Northwest India and Interior Peninsular India.
Active Monsoon gives heavy rains over UP, West Bengal
Active Southwest Monsoon conditions were seen over Gangetic West Bengal, North Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh and Northeast India. Mainly moderate to heavy showers were seen over these areas, with isolated extremely heavy rains.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Fursatganj in Uttar Pradesh recorded 237 mm of rain which is the highest rains ever recorded over the city in the month of August. This was followed by Kolkata at 100 mm, Lucknow 92 mm, Sagar 61 mm, Jammu 55 mm, and Chandbali 33 mm.
Light rain and thundershowers were also seen over Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. This was on account of the fresh cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal, which is presently seen as low pressure area in the Bay off the Odisha coast.
Delhi and Haryana also saw some scattered light rains in last 24 hours, while isolated showers were witnessed over Vidarbha region. Meanwhile, subdued Monsoon conditions continued over interiors of Peninsular India, Gujarat and West Rajasthan.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers are likely to continue over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of Uttar Pradesh.
With the low pressure area moving closer to the East Coast, rains are likely to increase over Gnagetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, North Chhattisgarh, and East Uttar Pradesh. Heavy rains are likely at isolated places.
Light to moderate rains are likely over Konkan and Goa, North Kerala and Coastal Karnataka, while isolated to scattered rains and thundershowers will also continue over Northwest India.
Monsoon will remain subdued over interiors of Peninsular India, most parts of Maharashtra, West Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Subdued Monsoon rains in India
Southwest Monsoon has taken a backseat across the country for now. During last 24 hours, Northeastern states received good showers. Madhya Pradesh has also received widespread good showers on Saturday.
In Northeast India, Aizwal in Mizoram received 95 mm of rainfall. In Assam, Lumding received 56.2 mm of rainfall while Golaghat received 35.6 mm.
In Madhya Pradesh, Sheopur received 94 mm, Rewa, 80 mm, Sagar 73 mm and Bhopal 15 mm.
Monsoon also remained active over West Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Odisha. On the other hand, it remained subdued over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.
Subdued Monsoon conditions were also witnessed over Gujarat, Vidarbha, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, South Kerala and South Tamil Nadu.
Tomorrow, Delhi and Kolkata will receive good rains. Mumbai will receive light rains if at all. Chennai will be mainly dry with partly cloudy skies.
Vigorous Monsoon gives record breaking rains over Chhattisgarh
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Chhattisgarh, wherein parts of the state saw record breaking rains. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Ambikapur recorded 126 mm of rain that is highest rainfall in last 10 years.
Monsoon was also active over Jharkhand, Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Delhi. Mainly moderate showers were seen over most parts of these states. Sriniketan received 59 mm of rain, followed by Ratnagiri 51 mm, Guna 30 mm, Berilly 31 mm and Satna 26 mm.
Scattered rain and thundershowers were also seen over parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, South West Bengal, North Odisha and parts of Rajasthan. Sundernagar observed 5 mm, Chandigarh 1 mm, and Sambalpur 1 mm.
Mainly dry weather was observed West Rajasthan and Kutch region of Gujarat.
During the next 24 hours, fairly widespread moderate to heavy showers will continue over East Uttar Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, North Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Intensity of rains will increase over remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India. All these areas will witness mainly moderate rains.
Vigorous Monsoon gives torrential rains over Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh
Vigorous Monsoon conditions continued over Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand. Similar weather conditions were also seen over South Bihar and North Chhattisgarh.
Monsoon was active over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Daltonganj recorded 143 mm of rain, followed by Ambikapur 104 mm, Jamshedpur 88 mm, Gaya 39 mm, Kolkata 36 mm, Bareilly 57 mm, Varanasi 41 mm, Sundernagar 42 mm, Hoshangabad 32 mm, and Mangalore 49.2 mm.
Subdued rains were observed over Rayalaseema, South Tamil Nadu, Kutch region, West Rajasthan, most parts of Maharashtra and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over all these regions.
Rest parts of the country witnessed normal Monsoon conditions wherein Delhi saw 5.4 mm of rain.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers are likely to continue over Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and North Madhya Pradesh.
Intensity of rains will also increase over West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India.
Meanhwhile, scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers to continue over Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.
West Bengal and Jharkhand witness vigorous Monsoon rains
Vigorous Monsoon conditions continued over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand, bringing heavy showers over the region. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Krishnanagar recorded 133 mm of rain, Sriniketan 87 mm, Jamshedpur 86 mm, and Kolkata 60 mm.
It was also active over Gujarat region, East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, wherein Bhira observed 81 mm, and Ahmedabad 52 mm.
Meanwhile, subdued rains were witnessed over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka, Kutch region, West Rajasthan, most parts of Maharashtra and Northeast India. Karaikal received 8 mm, Vijaywada 5 mm, Belgaum 5.6 mm, and Aurangabad 4 mm.
Rest of the country witnessed normal Monsoon conditions.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers are expected to continue over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and East Rajasthan. Moderate Monsoon rains will also continue over Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, and Coastal Karnataka.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are also expected over Delhi, Haryana, Odisha, parts of Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Northeast India.
Vigorous Monsoon gives torrential rains over Rajasthan and East India
The Southwest Monsoon continued to be vigorous over East Rajasthan and similar conditions were also seen over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, North Odisha, and Saurashtra and Kutch region.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Jamshedpur recorded 219 mm of rain, followed by Jodhpur 172 mm, Baroda 144 mm, Idar 62.8 mm, Surat 56 mm, Digha 59 mm, and Kolkata 57 mm.
Monsoon was active over Punjab, Uttatakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Konkan and Goa and parts of Northeast India. Mahabaleswar has received 80 mm, Ambala 85 mm, Patiala 51 mm, and Mukhteshwar 48 mm.
Meanwhile, intensity of Monsoon rains has reduced over parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra during the last 24 hours.
Rain activity remained subdued over Peninsular India, with mainly dry weather conditions prevail over the region. Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over the rest of the country.
As we progress further, we can expect significant increase in the rainfall activity over East India on account of depression over East India intensifying into a deep depression. In wake of this, we can expect very heavy to extremely heavy rains over Jharkhand, and adjoining West Bengal including Kolkata during the next 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rains are also likely over Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Bihar.
Meanwhile low pressure area over Northeast Rajasthan will also keep Monsoon vigorous over East Rajasthan that could also see some torrential rains.
Uttar Pradesh, parts of Southwest Rajatshan and Uttarakhand will see moderate to heavy showers. Intensity of Monsoon rains will increase over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi-NCR. Meanwhile, Mumbai will continue with scattered light to moderate showers.
Monsoon remains vigorous over Southeast Rajasthan
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Southeast Rajasthan, giving torrential rains over Chittorgarh and Bikaner of 259 mm and 101 mm, respectively.
Monsoon was active over Saurashtra and Kutch, Gangetic West Bengal, North Odisha, Mizoram, Assam and some parts of Konkan & Goa. Isolated places have also recorded very heavy showers.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Mahabaleswar recorded 117 mm of rain, Chandbali 114 mm, Silchar 83 mm, North Lakhimpur 63 mm, Canning 81 mm, Kolkata 58 mm, Contai 55 mm, Surat 47 mm, Jodhpur 42 mm, and Paradip 33.
Meanwhile, it remained subdued over Haryana, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Interior Karnataka. Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over the rest of the country.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains with isolated very heavy showers will continue over South and East Rajasthan, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and parts of Chhattisgarh.
Light to moderate with isolated heavy rains will also occur over Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka.
Moderate Monsoon rains are also expected over many places of East Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab.
Heavy Monsoon rains lash Kutch, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed over several parts of Kutch, Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining West and Northwest Madhya Pradesh. These regions have witnessed very heavy rains. In fact, Chittorgarh at 229 mm of rain is the rainiest city in India. Other areas have also witnessed heavy rains including Guna 68 mm, and Khajuraho 52 mm.
Other parts of Rajasthan including North and West Rajasthan as well as rest of Madhya Pradesh witnessed active Monsoon conditions with good rains over Sri Ganganagar, Ajmer and Bikaner. Southwest Monsoon was active over Southeast Uttar Pradesh with 71 mm of rain in Varanasi.
Good rains were also recorded over Jharkhand, Bihar and parts of Gangetic West Bengal. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Jamshedpur recorded 40 mm of rain, Kolkata 19 mm, and Ranchi 14 mm.
Rest of the country witnessed normal Monsoon conditions including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.
Heavy Monsoon rain expected over Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh & Rajasthan
Vigorous Monsoon rain conditions were witnessed over Saurashtra, Kutch, West Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh. Active Monsoon conditions were prevailing over Madhya Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, West Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am from Friday, Kota recorded a whopping 193.1 mm of rain, Katra 175 mm, Jammu 128 mm, Dwarka in Gujarat 91 mm, Tinsukia in Assam 82 mm, Khandwa 73 mm, Naliya 73 mm, Sagar 70 mm, Jagdalpur 70 mm and Pachmarhi received 64 mm of rain.
Meanwhile, Monsoon remained subdued over Northeast India, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and the entire south peninsular India.
Rest parts of the country witnessed normal Monsoon conditions. During the next 24 hours, Heavy to very heavy rainfall expected over Uttarakhand, West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Rajasthan.
Intensity of rain can be expected over Madhya Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, North Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Rain activity is also likely to increase over Bihar and adjoining areas.
As far as Monsoon over South peninsular India is concerned, subdued activity is expected to continue over there for the next 24 hours.
Heavy Monsoon rains batter Konkan & Goa, Saurashtra and Kutch
Vigorous Monsoon rain condition were witnessed over Konkan & Goa including Mumbai and Saurashtra and Kutch region of Gujarat.
Monsoon continued to be active over Coastal Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and some parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am from Thursday, Mumbai recorded 141 mm of rain, Jamshedpur 124 mm, Dahanu 119 mm, Rajkot 114 mm, Hoshangabad 81 mm, Dehradun 79 mm, Ratnagiri 69 mm, Guna 63 mm, Raipur 73 mm, Porbandar 77 mm, and Naliya 74 mm.
Meanwhile, subdued rains continued over Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, South Kerala Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, West Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Rest parts of the country witnessed normal Monsoon conditions.
Kochi received 2 mm of rain, Hyderabad 2 mm, Gulabarga 1 mm, and Gaya 3 mm.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers are expected over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, East Rajasthan, and Konkan & Goa including Mumbai.
Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will also record light to moderate rains.
Heavy to very heavy Monsoon rains may occur over North and Central Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Heavy Monsoon rains lash Odisha, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh
Monsoon continued to be vigorous over Odisha, while it remained active over several parts of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, and Coastal Karnataka.
Intensity of rains also increased over North Kerala as moderate showers were recorded over several parts.
In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am from Thursday, Sambalpur recorded 163 mm of rain, Mahabaleswar 160 mm, Ahmedabad 105 mm, Umaria 87 mm, Harnai 82 mm, Ratnagiri 72 mm, Angul 75 mm, Porbandar 77 mm, and Jharsuguda 63 mm.
Meanwhile, subdued Monsoon rains were seen over Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Rest parts of the country witnessed normal Monsoon conditions.
Gaya saw 6 mm of rain, followed by Chandigarh 3 mm, Hyderabad 3 mm, Gulbarga 1.8 mm, and Kurnool 0.8 mm.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy showers are likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Southeast Rajasthan, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka, North Kerala and Northeast India.
Heavy to very heavy Monsoon rains are expected over parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Northwest Uttar Pradesh and North Haryana will also start witnessing light to moderate rains. Meanwhile, weather will be mainly dry over interiors of Peninsular India.
Vigorous Monsoon continues to batter Konkan & Goa, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh
Southwest Monsoon remains active to vigorous over Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, South Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Coastal Karnataka.
Mahabaleswar recorded 240 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Sambalpur 240 mm, Bhira 186 mm, Ratlam 185 mm, Angul 112 mm, Jabalpur 87 mm, Jalore 78 mm, Pune 74.6 mm, Guna 69 mm, Belgaum 44 mm, and Indore 35 mm.
Meanwhile, subdued Monsoon rains were seen over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India. Ganganagar received 10 mm, Varanasi 10 mm, Gaya 8 mm, Guwahati 3 mm, and Hisar 1mm.
Similar conditions were also witnessed over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Interior Karnataka. Rest of the country recorded normal Monsoon rains.
Further during the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains will continue over Konkan & Goa, and Coastal Karnataka. Intensity of rains will also increase over Kerala.
Heavy Monsoon rains are also likely to begin over few parts of Kutch region of Gujarat, Southeast Rajasthan, North and East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Southwest Monsoon vigorous over Konkan and Goa, give hefty rains
Vigorous Monsoon conditions were observed over Konkan & Goa. Mahabaleshwar recorded extremely heavy rainfall of 410.4 mm, followed by Nashik with 204 mm rains and Bhira with 198 mm of hefty showers.
Southwest Monsoon was active over East Rajasthan. During last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, moderate showers were observed over Jaipur with 36 mm rainfall followed by Kota that observed 26 mm of rains.
Madhya Pradesh and Odisha also observed active Monsoon conditions. During the similar time frame, Ujjain observed good showers of 45 mm. Most of the districts of Odisha also observed sharp spells. Chandbali observed 37.8 mm of rainfall.
Similar conditions were observed over Gangetic West Bengal, Coastal Karnataka and Jharkhand. Coochbehar observed 189.8 mm of rainfall while Agumbe witnessed 21.6 mm rains.
Monsoon remained subdued over Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, West Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch region, along with the northeastern states, Rayalaseema, interiors of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. Most of the districts in these states witnessed very light spells of rainfall. Few of them even received less than 5 mm.
Vigorous Monsoon gives torrential rains over Konkan & Goa
The Southwest Monsoon remained vigorous over Konkan & Goa region during the last 24 hours as well, giving extremely heavy rainfall over the region. Mahabaleshwar recorded whopping 389 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, followed by Harnai 212 mm, Dahanu 174 mm, Bhira 145 mm, Ratnagiri 126 mm and Nashik 102 mm.
Meanwhile, active Monsoon conditions were seen over Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Keonjhargarh received 99 mm of rain, Jabalpur 75 mm, Puri 68 mm, Chandbali 45 mm, Gwalior 58 mm, Ambikapur 52 mm, Jharsuguda 34 mm, Bhopal 34 mm, and Jagdalpur 23 mm.
Meanwhile rest parts of the country witnessed normal Monsoon rains barring parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka, West Rajasthan and Northeast India which continued with subdued rains.
During the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy Monsoon rains are expected over North and West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining East Rajasthan. Isolated places may also record extremely heavy rains. Konkan & Goa including Mumbai will also receive moderate to heavy rains.
Moderate rains will also continue East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Vidarbha and North coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Southwest Monsoon was observed vigorous over Konkan & Goa. Most of the regions have witnessed hefty showers. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Harnai in the Maharashtra state observed good showers of 154 mm second by Bhira in the same state recording sharp spells of 137 mm. Mahabaleshwar also observed a three digit rainfall of 116 mm.
Active Monsoon was also seen over Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh where Dharamsala recorded whopping 174 mm rains followed by Nahan that has witnessed 145 mm showers. In the Madhya Pradesh state as well Hoshangabad observed 126 mm rains.
Heavy showers were also observed over Gangetic West Bengal, West Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat where Southwest Monsoon was seen active. Diamond Harbour observed sharp spells of 165 mm while Sultanpur observed 121.6 mm rains. Bhavnagar in Gujarat region also recorded good spells of 56 mm.
Coastal Karnataka, Coastal Odisha and North coastal Andhra Pradesh also observed active Southwest Monsoon conditions.
Monsoon remained subdued over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Kutch region, Haryana, Punjab, West Rajasthan and northeastern states. These regions witnessed light rainy spells during last 24 hours.
However, Monsoon was seen normal over the rest part of the country.

Southwest Monsoon has become vigorous over the state of Gujarat along with the Saurashtra region. Heavy to very heavy rains have been observed over these areas. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Veraval recorded 107 mm of rain followed by Rajkot where 94 mm of rain was received.
Southwest Monsoon remained active over parts of West Coast particularly over Konkan and Goa as well as Coastal Karnataka. During the last 24 hours, while Harnai recorded 128 mm of rain, Ratnagiri recorded 108 mm rainfall. Active Monsoon conditions were also observed over West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana as well as East Coast of India including Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
Normal Monsoon conditions were observed over parts of East India, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Good rains were recorded in Ranchi at 45 mm and Purnea 72 mm. Other areas only received light rain.
Southwest Monsoon remained subdued over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, West Rajasthan, and Northeast India.

Vigorous Monsoon conditions were seen over Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, South Gujarat, Rajasthan and Mumbai during the last 24 hours. Delhi recorded 144 mm of rain in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, followed by Mumbai 114 mm, Dahanu 152.3 mm, Alibag 187 mm, and Allahabad 49 mm.
Monsoon was active over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Haryana, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and along the parts of West Coast. Hisar recorded 44 mm, Bareilly 65 mm, Gwalior 27 mm,
Normal Monsoon rains were witnessed over Northeast India and remaining parts of East India. North Lakhimpur witnessed 46 mm, Shillong 52 mm, and Daltonganj 35 mm.
Meanwhile, subdued rains were recorded along the East Coast, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
During the next 24 hours, rain activity is likely to increase over Telangana, North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, South Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and East Madhya Pradesh. Mumbai is expected to continue with moderate to heavy showers.
Meanwhile, rains are likely to decrease gradually across the northern plains but light to moderate rains will continue.

Active Monsoon was observed at many parts of India including Konkan & Goa, East Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, Tirupati recorded 95 mm rains, Harnai recorded 59 mm, Mumbai observed 110 mm rains while Dahanu recorded 86 mm showers.
The northeastern states including Assam and Meghalaya also observed heavy showers. During the same time frame, Mazbat observed 99 mm rainfall while Shillong recorded 52 mm showers.
Parts of Delhi and Haryana also observed similar conditions. However, Monsoon was observed normal over rest of India.
Interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala and coastal Andhra Pradesh observed subdued rains along with extreme West Rajasthan.
During next 24 hours, moderate to sharp spells are likely over East Rajasthan, Gujarat, Indo-Gangetic plains of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and Delhi.
Heavy rains are also expected over Konkan & Goa and Vidarbha region. while Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, northeast India, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh might observe scattered showers.

Active Monsoon was seen over Jammu & Kashmir and Gujarat where heavy showers were witnessed. In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Wednesday, Jammu recorded rainfall of 62 mm while Deesa observed good showers of 56 mm.
West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan also observed similar Monsoon conditions. Sri Ganganagar witnessed hefty showers of 91 mm and Bikaner recorded 31 mm rains during the same time frame.
Monsoon was active over Rayalaseema, Coastal Karnataka, Marathwada and Vidarbha as well. Honnavar recorded 29.6 mm while Mangalore witnessed 22.7 mm showers. Akola in Maharashtra region also recorded 66 mm rains.
Rest all parts of the country enjoyed normal Monsoon. But Kerala and Kutch region observed subdued Monsoon rains.
Axis of Monsoon trough is seen passing through Phalodi, Jaipur, Satna, Jamshedpur, Deegha and is moving towards north Bay of Bengal.
During next 24 hours, scattered to moderate rains are expected over most parts of the country. East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat region along with parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar might witness some heavy showers.
While, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim including parts of Assam and Meghalaya are likely to receive scattered light to moderate showers.

Active to vigorous Monsoon conditions were witnessed over Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh, that gave heavy rains over the state. In span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Jhansi recorded 123 mm, followed by Sagar at 88 mm, Gwalior 65 mm, Satna 37 mm, and Guna 34 mm.
Similar weather conditions were seen over Mumbai, Gujarat and adjoining Southeast Rajasthan. Surat had recorded 94 mm, Mumbai 67 mm, Udaipur 57 mm and Jaisalmer 11 mm.
Good Monsoon showers were also witnessed in Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Paradip recorded 73 mm, Tuni 73 mm, Puri 49 mm, Digha 49 mm, Jharsuguda 45 mm, Sambalpur 40 mm, Visakhapatnam 34 mm, Bhubaneshwar 34 mm and Balasore 35 mm.
Delhi has also recorded fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall. Few areas have also recorded heavy showers.
Moderate to heavy showers were also seen over Northeast India along with Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
Light to moderate showers were also seen along the West Coast, Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Chhattisgarh and interiors of Peninsular India. Bangalore has recorded 25 mm of rain during the last 24 hours, Ranchi 29 mm, Gulbarga 14.2 mm, Varanasi 21 mm, Mangalore 10 mm, Ramagundam 12 mm and Churu 7 mm.
During the next 24 hours, active Monsoon conditions will be seen in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
Uttarakhand is likely to see heavy to extremely heavy rains, which will further aggravate the flood situation.
Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh will continue with good Monsoon rains. Heavy showers are also expected over few places.

Active Monsoon was seen over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, west Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Rajasthan.
Most parts of the country witnessed a three-digit rainfall. Bagdogra recorded 165 mm rains, Coochbehar observed 109 mm rainfall, Cherrapunji 169 mm and Ratnagiri witnessed 115 mm showers.
Axis of Monsoon trough can be seen passing through Anoopgarh, Gwalior, Raipur, Gopalpur towards northeast Bay of Bengal. An off-shore trough from south Konkan to Kerala also persists.
Western Disturbance is currently seen over Jammu & Kashmir and adjoining areas.
