It seems that the rainy days are yet not over for the hilly states of North India. Rains have bestowed upon most parts of the popular hill stations. The trio hill stations, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have received on and off showers spanning from the fag end of March until April’s initial days.

All thanks to the active Western Disturbances that affects the Western Himalayan region resulting in rains in the hilly terrains of the northern hills. In fact, the last 24 hours were also rainy for the popular hill stations of North India.

In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Banihal recorded 7 mm of rains, Qazigund and Srinagar both recorded rainy spells of 4 mm, Manali 20 mm, Shimla 7 mm, Mandi, and Sundarnagar observed 5 mm of rains each.

As per Skymet Weather, these rains are likely to continue for another 2 to 3 days over the crown of the country, Jammu and Kashmir, and the state with scenic mountains, Himachal Pradesh. Whereas, isolated showers may occur over Uttarakhand and adjoining foothills of Uttar Pradesh.

Thereafter, as the Western Disturbance will move away, the weather will witness a short-term dry spell. However, the weather will not completely become dry as one after other Western Disturbances are approaching the western Himalayas over the remaining days of the month.

However, as the weather system will not be strong, chances of good rains are ruled out. But, patchy on and off showers and cloudy weather conditions are expected to continue which will ensure that temperatures will not rise significantly. Heatwave conditions also do not have strong chances of coming back and hitting the region again.
