Last Day Of Unseasonal Weather Over Eastern States, Dry Weather Follows Till Month End

Prolonged unseasonal weather activity lashed the central and eastern states of the country for the last 4 days. It is likely to cease anytime tomorrow and mostly fair weather conditions will follow, right till the month end. Courtesy, of this wet spell, the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal have gone surplus rainfall in March, with a clear margin. The state of Bihar missed the action earlier but may catch up today with fairly widespread rainfall, heavy at few places. Contiguous states of West Bengal and Jharkhand will also be the beneficiaries to record of scattered rainfall.

Cyclonic circulation, which earlier lied over Odisha and Chhattisgarh, is now marked over Bihar. Intense weather activity will be observed over the eastern and northeastern parts of the state. Araria, Kishanganj, Purnea, Katihar, Madhubani, Madhepura and Darbhanga will be at risk of severe thunderstorms and lightning strikes. Also, northern parts of West Bengal and northeastern districts of Jharkhand will have stormy conditions of lightning, thundershowers and strong winds. The weather activity will be more intense in the evening and night hours.

Anticyclone over the north Bay of Bengal is fueling moist winds and energizing this feature. As the cyclonic circulation shifts northeastward and also gets diffused a bit, weather activity will nearly cease, tomorrow. Isolated places of Bihar and North Bengal may still have the remnant effect for another 24 hours. Broad clearance is expected from 22nd March onward. Mercury is expected to rise in the wake of general clearance over the region.  Mostly sunny days and humid weather conditions can be expected, till the month's end.
