Due to the incessant rains across the state, chances of landslide over Uttarakhand have reached an all-time high. The reason for such non-stop rain can be attributed to the weather system over Madhya Pradesh. The axis of Monsoon trough is now moving towards north to foothills of Himalayas.
This weather system is expected to give hefty amounts of rain, trigging landslides in some places.
Places that have high chances of landslide in Uttarakhand are Nandprayag, Gopeshwar and Pipalkoti.
Respected authorities have been warned about any such occurrence so that the number of casualties are close to none. Due to nature’s relentless mar, back in 2014, Uttarakhand witnessed a flood like situation which neither the state nor the country wants to witness again.
