The state of Rajasthan has enjoyed a rainy August as good Monsoon showers lashed the desert state on a regular basis. Several areas received continuous Monsoon showers giving the residents that much needed relief.
During the month of August, many areas even received rains over 50 mm in a span of 24 hours. These rains can be attributed to an array of Monsoon systems in the form of cyclonic circulations and Low Pressure Areas.
August ended on a rainy note and the first days of September are also likely to give good Monsoon rains over the state. Kota in Rajasthan has received good Monsoon rains during the past 24 hours. In fact, these Monsoon rains have been heavy in intensity.
During the last 21 hours from 8:30 am on Wednesday, Kota recorded a whopping 78 mm of rain which is quite high for a region lying in the desert state. The city is expected to receive a few more spells of rain during the next 24 hours.
These Monsoon rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which is presently over Haryana and adjoining Rajasthan. Not only this, the axis of the Monsoon trough is also running in close proximity of the city. This year, Rajasthan has enjoyed good Monsoon rains and is currently one of the best performing regions in the country.
