The Konkan region has been seeing some intense weather activities as Monsoon has been active over the region. During the last 24 hours, Harnai recorded 62 mm of rains, Ratnagiri saw 50 mm rain, Alibag 30 mm.
Mumbai, the city has had a bumper July in terms of rainfall activities. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Santa Cruz recorded 56 mm of rain. In fact, the total rainfall this month has been recorded at 1347 mm against the monthly mean of 919.9 mm.
Heavy rains are likely over Konkan. Southern including Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, and Deogad will see heavier rains as compared to the northern regions of Mumbai, Alibag, and Thane.
Heavy to very heavy rains may be seen over southern parts of Konkan while showers will be heavy over other parts of Konkan for the next couple of days. The reason for these rains is attributed to the activation of the offshore trough due to the presence of systems in the Bay of Bengal.
