The West Coast has been exceptionally good rains for the past few days. The month of June has been good for almost the entire West Coast. So much so that the region has been witnessing three digit rains as well during the past few days.
The last 24 hours have also been good enough for the West Coast in particular. Good rains were recorded in both Coastal Karnataka as well as Kerala. However, it was the Konkan and Goa region which was the star performer where many areas recorded heavy to very heavy rains.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am, Bhira recorded a whopping 239 mm of rain, followed by Mahabaleshwar where 180 mm of rain of rainfall was witnessed.
Other areas to have received good rains include Harnai 94 mm, Alibag 71 mm, Ratnagiri 42 mm, Panjim 26 mm, Honavar 39 mm, Mangalore 20 mm, Madikeri 12 mm, Kozhikode 23 mm, and Kochi 20 mm.

As per weathermen at Skymet, good rains will continue over both Konkan and Goa as well as Coastal Karnataka. However, the intensity of rains will reduce over the Kerala region after 24 hours as the trough is likely to weaken and will only persist up to Coastal Karnataka.
As far as the performance in the month of June is concerned, Konkan and Goa has recorded an excess rain of 20 percent while Coastal Karnataka is deficient at 4 percent and Kerala ended at 11 percent rainfall deficiency.
