The month of March is generally a warm period for Kolkata. The city usually sees the maximums getting registered between 32 and 33 degrees Celsius while the minimums remain in early 20’s. The city also sees a fair amount of rainfall during the month that accounts for 35.2 mm.
While the temperatures of Kolkata are pretty close to normal, it is the rainfall that has remained mainly absent from showing upon. Barring a single occasion i.e. on March 6 when Kolkata observed a few rainy traces, otherwise, the city has remained arid.
Due to this, the maximums have scaled up and yesterday, the temperatures recorded by Kolkata went two degrees above the normal at 34.5°C.

As of now also, no changes in the weather of Kolkata is predicted and the city would continue to reel under warm and dry days. As per Skymet Weather, an anti-cyclonic circulation lies over the northern Bay of Bengal. Due to which warm and moist winds would be affecting Kolkata and adjoining areas.
In the wake of these humid winds, humidity levels are expected to increase leading to slight discomfort levels. The sky conditions would remain clear over most parts of the city during this period and no rains are foreseen for now.
Such conditions are expected to prevail for the next 2-3 days. Moreover, a slight rise in the day temperature is also anticipated as northwesterly winds are likely to cut off gradually.
