Since the last few days, dry weather has been continuing over most parts of West Bengal, wherein Sub Himalayan West Bengal is experiencing comfortable days followed by cool nights. This is due to dry and cool winds from northwest directions.

In contrary to this, Gangetic West Bengal is experiencing warm days followed by pleasant nights. The reason for this difference in the weather conditions between Sub Himalayan and Gangetic West Bengal can be attributed to the presence of an Anti Cyclone over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast in the lower levels.

This system is providing warm and moist winds over the region, thereby making the days warm. Moreover, some light rain and thundershower activities along with gusty winds at isolated places may occur as a result of this system.

Places like Kolkata, Alipur, Burdwan, Nadia, Birbhum in Gangetic West Bengal might experience spell of rain and thundershowers during afternoon hours for next two to three days.

In wake of the above system, night temperatures will increase. Consequently, humidity levels will also increase.

Meanwhile, gusty winds will continue blowing over Gangetic West Bengal, with temperatures settling between 30℃ and 33℃, while Sub Himalayan West Bengal will record maximums in the range of 29℃ to 31℃.
