The weather in Madhya Pradesh has almost turned dry since July 10. Moderate to heavy amounts of rain were observed in several parts of the state between July 1- July 9 but thereafter a lull period has prevailed.
According to meteorologists at Skymet, Monsoon rains will once again revive in Madhya Pradesh. However, scattered light to moderate rains has already occurred over East Madhya Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Places like Jabalpur and Umaria witnessed moderate showers. In the next 24 hours, few good showers of rain will be witnessed in Southwest Madhya Pradesh as well, while rains will be scattered over East Madhya Pradesh.
Thus, we can say that places like Alirajpur, Dhar, Khargone, and Burhanpur will get to see good rains whereas Umaria, Mandla, and Anuppur will see scattered rains only.
It is very likely that scattered rain and thundershowers can be seen over many parts of the state around July July 22 and the activity will continue till July 27 or July 28.
Initially, the rains over Southwest Madhya Pradesh will be due to a Cyclonic Circulation which has developed over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining South Rajasthan and Gujarat. Around July 23, a north-south Trough will develop from East Uttar Pradesh up to Telangana across Madhya Pradesh which is likely to enhance the rainfall activities.
Hence, it looks like that the last week of July will be a rainy one for the state of Madhya Pradesh.
