The state of Kerala has so far has had a decent Monsoon journey. There have been times when heavy Monsoon rains have made an appearance over the state while other times, rains have remained between light to moderate over the state. Throughout the season so far, on and off rains have kept Kerala rainfall figures to remain on the surplus side.

In fact, from June 1 to July 29, the state of Kerala has been witnessing a rainfall surplus of 16 percent which is good enough. The last 24 hours also saw rains of varied intensity over the state.

These rains are attributed to the westerly winds which have been bringing moisture over the state of Kerala resulting in cloud development, and eventually rainfall activity over the entire state.

Now, as per weathermen at Skymet Weather, light to moderate rains are expected to continue over the state of Kerala during the next 24 to 48 hours. The possibility of isolated heavy rainfall in a few pockets also cannot be ruled out.
