Kerala rains likely for another 48 hours, no hazardous situation expected

The state of Kerala underwent a severe deluge for a long time which claimed several lives and caused massive damage to property as well. Heavy rains, flooding conditions and landslips had wreaked havoc over the state for long.

However, after that, the situation had gone quiet with rains remaining light in intensity. However, the month of September is also a Monsoon month and rains do not ease out with continuation in showers at some pockets.

The last 24 hours did see some light to moderate showers making an appearance over God’s Own Country.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Alappuzha recorded 33 mm of rains, Karipur 16 mm, Kannur 15 mm, Thrissur 10 mm, Kozhikode 11 mm, and Kochi 7 mm.

During the next 24 hours also, light rainfall with a few moderate showers is expected to occur over the state of Kerala which may even slip on to another day.

However, these rains are not likely to shape up in a way where panic moments may occur as rains are not expected to escalate to that level. Situation is not expected to become hazardous in any way.
