The southern parts of the country are expected to see some rainfall activities in the last 48 hours. The states of Kerala, Lakshadweep and Tamil Nadu are expected to see rains for the next 48 hours.
After the cessation of Northeast Monsoon, normally these regions remain quiet in terms of rains. At present, Kerala is witnessing a deficiency of almost 33 percent. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has fared ok, and Lakshadweep is also in the normal range.
Due to the northeasterly streams prevailing along the Tamil Nadu coast, which is even travelling across the Southern Peninsula, rains are expected over Kerala, interiors of Tamil Nadu during the next 48 hours. Along the Kerala Coast, a trough is also running which may further aid in these rains.
Rains will be more today, slightly lesser tomorrow and will cease completely by Friday.
