In the last 24 hours, good rainfall has occurred along Coastal Karnataka and Kerala while interior parts of Karnataka have received light to moderate rains at scattered places. Presently, an off-shore Trough is active and extending from Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast. Due to the activeness of this Trough, rains are likely to continue for the next 24 hours. Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely at many places over coastal parts of Karnataka and Kerala while the interior parts of Karnataka will experience light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places.

Places like Mangalore, Karwar, Honavar, Belgaun, Shimoga, Uttar Kanadda, Kochi, and Uddipi are set to witness heavy rainfall during the next 24 to 48 hours.

Also, the Low-Pressure Area which lies over Chhattisgarh and its associated Cyclonic Circulation will induce some weather in the South. Rains will be increasing in intensity over interior parts of Karnataka during the next 24 hours to 36 hours. Thereafter, rain will decrease initially form South Interior Karnataka and thereafter from North Interior Karnataka. However, the coastal parts of Karnataka will continue to witness moderate to heavy rain and thundershower.

In case of Kerala, the rainfall intensity will be decreasing after 24 to 36 hours but light to moderate rains would continue over the state.
