Kashmir Valley Turns White, Himachal Hills Strap Fluffy Snow: Second Round Queues Up

Turning around and twisting in the weather conditions across the northern mountains has brought cheers all around. Two-month-long droughty conditions finally were ousted with fluffy snow all along the mountain ranges and peaks. Typical winter activities, which nearly got abandoned are back on track and infused thrill and excitement amongst various sectors.

The adventure and tourism sector had been languishing for want of snow.  Tourists and revellers are back in the lodge and the adventure den has kick-started. Khelo India winter games in the Union Territory of Ladakh have commenced for five days show, in the Nawang Dorjay Stobdan Stadium-Leh. The second phase of the games, including ice games,  will be held in Gulmarg between the 21^st and 25^th Feb 2024. A deep layer of fresh snow will have the provisioning for skiing and skating on an ice sheet. The farmers are upbeat and fruit and vegetable growers have relived the hopes of their crops and orchards. Glaciers of the Valley have been recharged and are promising replenishment of perennial reservoirs that feed the rivers, streams and lakes during summer months.

Fresh western disturbance is arriving tomorrow and staying actively for 48 hours, on 03^rd and 04^thFeb. The leftover of the system will have the remnant effect for another 48 hours, on 05^th and 06^th Feb. The trail of the system will finally make exit with broad clearance in the weather conditions, from 07^th Feb onwards.

Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh will have heavy snowfall, including and covering the attractive tourist resorts. Uttrakhand will also witness widespread rain and thundershowers with moderate snowfall over the high grounds of the state with elevation above 10,000 feet. The capital city of Himachal Pradesh, which got left out during the last spell, may witness a bout of snow On the city premises and the popular Mall Road. All the tourist destinations like Srinagar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Manali, Dalhousie, Shimla, Kufri, and Narkanda will be revisited with a fair amount of snowfall during this period.
