Northern hills of the country have seen good rainy days during the fag end of March along with the initial days of April. In fact, rains have blessed parts of North India including the northern hills in the last few days as well.

The hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand have witnessed rainfall in the last 24 hours as well. The reason for these rains can be attributed to the Western Disturbance that affects the Western Himalayan region.

Let’s have a look at the rainfall recorded in the various districts of the hills of North India in the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Saturday:

However, as per Skymet Weather, the Western Disturbance which was over Jammu & Kashmir has moved away and is now seen over Afghanistan and adjoining North Pakistan. Thus, the rains will continue lashing the region for at least another two to three days but with a reduced intensity.

Moreover, as another fresh Western Disturbance is expected to approach the Western Himalayas, thus, rainfall will be a common phenomenon during this time as back to back weather system will approach the Himalayan region.

Thus people planning to tour the popular hill stations can brace for scattered rains and squally winds.
