In the last 24 hours, some places of Jammu and Kashmir received rain and snow. Meanwhile in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh most places observed widespread rain and snow. In fact, dense fog was observed over the plains of Jammu, Himachal and Uttarakhand.
In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Mussoorie recorded 17 mm of rain, followed by Bilaspur 15 mm, Chamba 25 mm, Dharamshala 21 mm, Hamirpur 21 mm, Almora 19 mm, Kullu 17 mm, Manali and Nainital 16 mm, Dehradun 13 mm, Shimla 11 mm and Pahalgam 3 mm.
At present, the Western Disturbance is moving away across eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. But with a very short gap another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas and will affect Jammu and Kashmir by February 17 night.
During the next 24 hours, isolated rains will continue over parts of East Jammu and Kashmir, East Himachal and Uttarakhand. Day temperatures will rise marginally over these areas and night temperatures will drop significantly.
February 17 night onwards, we expect widespread rain and snow to commence over Jammu and Kashmir and will gradually cover Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. These widespread weather activities will continue for the next three to four days.
