In South Coastal India, at present, a low-level trough is extending from Coastal Karnataka to Madhya Maharashtra and a Cyclonic Circulation lies over Coastal Karnataka. In association with this system, during the last 24 hours, coastal stations and few parts of southern Karnataka witnessed rain and thundershower activities.
Further also, we expect similar activities to continue mainly along the coast and south for another 24 hours. Rain is also likely to be witnessed in isolated pockets of North Karnataka. There are chances of development of thunder clouds as well in some parts.
The northern part of this region is likely to experience dry and warm weather conditions with partly cloudy sky. However, rains will be observed in the southern parts. Places like Mangalore, Udupi, Shimoga, Agumbe, Mysore, Mandya and Madikeri will experience moderate spells. In last 24 hours, Madikeri received 36.2 mm of rainfall, Mandya 7.6 mm, Haveri and Dharwad 6.4 mm, Mysore 4.6 mm and Shimoga 3 mm.
However, isolated thunder activities can be experienced in the North as well in the regions of Bidar and Gulbarga. In last 24 hours, these stations have already witnessed rains. The weather seems quite pleasant and mostly dry weather will prevail with few isolated activities of rain at one or two places.
Thereby, one can plan a weekend getaway with their family or friends in cities like Bengaluru or maybe Mysore.
