Monsoon rains have been playing wonderfully over the state of Karnataka from the last many days. The last 24 hours too were no different for almost the entire state. Though in contrast with the coastal regions of the state, the interior districts of Karnataka manage to record comparatively good Monsoon showers.
Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Friday, Gadag recorded 32 mm of rains, Bengaluru 31.8 mm, Devangere 29.8 mm, Gulbarga 28 mm and Madikeri witnessed 18.4 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation that lies over the northern parts of Tamil Nadu and adjoining parts of South Karnataka. Simultaneously, an upper air trough is also seen extending from west central Bay of Bengal towards coastal Karnataka across this cyclonic circulation.
Moreover, the moist winds are also affecting the region of Karnataka, thus resulting in heavy rains at some places over interior Karnataka. Thus, the districts such as Hassan, Chikmagalur, Madikeri, Mysuru, Mandya are likely to witness heavy showers for the next 24 hours.
