During the last couple of days, good rains have been received by Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. However, the rains have took a backseat during the last 24 hours over these places.
On November 2, light rainfall has been received at scattered places along with moderate rains and thundershowers at isolated places. While Palayamkottai received 37 mm rains, Alappuzha 12 mm, Kochi 19 mm, Puducherry 2 mm, Coimbatore 4 mm, Palakkad 5 mm, Kanyakumari recorded 7 mm rains.
These weather conditions are prevailing due to the prevalence of moist winds in the presence of Severe Cyclonic Storm Maha over East-central Arabian Sea. Thus, Kerala and Karnataka are likely to see light to moderate rains during the next 48 hours i.e. the next two days. Thereafter, the rain intensity will be decreasing. While eastern parts of Tamil Nadu will remain mostly dry however, the western parts might see some light to moderate rains.
These rains will be witnessed in places like places like Mangalore, Karwar, Belgaum, Darwar, Bengaluru, Mysore, Kozhikode, Kannur, Coimbatore, Kodaikanal, Vijayawada. These areas will witness mainly light to moderate rains and thundershower activities.
These rains are likely to turn very beneficial for the ongoing crops in South India.
