Rains in Bengaluru took a break of a day and showed up once again on the past day. Though the intensity of these showers as predicted by Skymet Weather was very light in nature. Within the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am as on Wednesday, Bengaluru city recorded just a few traces of rains.
Due to the absence of rains, the maximums that were settling in lower 20’s scaled up to settle at 27 degrees Celsius. However, a few isolated districts of Karnataka witnessed some light spells within the similar time frame as mentioned above. Stations such as Mangaluru recorded light rains of 4 mm while Madikeri witnessed 2 mm of light rainy traces.
But these rains were mainly confined to south coastal and some south interior regions including the state capital. On the other hand, the north coast and the other north interior regions of the state remained mainly dry.

As per Skymet Weather, the reason for this decreased rainfall activity over Karnataka including the capital city Bengaluru can be associated with the intensification of the well-marked low-pressure area into a Depression.
Skymet Weather reiterates that the well-marked low-pressure area that was persisting over the northwest Bay of Bengal has now concentrated into a Depression and is seen moving northwestwards. Due to this intensification, the moisture feed over almost the entire Southern Peninsula has decreased thus resulting in a reduced rain activity over states of South India including Karnataka.

As of now also, mainly dry weather is anticipated for most parts of Karnataka. However, light spells are expected to continue over the southern districts of the state. Bengaluru can also anticipate a few light traces of showers. These rains are likely to continue for another 2-3 days.
